I have been a fan of the Cuban Coffee Queen for 10 years, I loved to go when visiting Key West and I tell everyone to go. Not any more! I just came across an entire staff of extremely rude individuals. I order a coffee and "rice and beans" add banana peppers and onion. I paid a lot and didn't realize I was being overcharged. I walked down the street and found pork in the to go box. I had specifically let him know I didn't want meat then also I realized I was overcharged by $4. I bring it back and he says he didn't order it with meat and they made a new one. I asked him about the price and he told me it was a "Havana Rice and Beans" plus $1 for the extras. I read the description and it's made with pork so that was a lie. He told me he put it in without. But the kicker is I didn't order an entree with meat and I was being charged for it. Long story short...I was rung up the wrong food, overpaid, they were EXTREMELY rude. Blaming ME! And he didn't know how to refund me the difference and told me do I want to bring the newly replaced food back. Why would I return the food, I bought it cause I was hungry? Then angerly sticks his hand in his tip jar and hands me $3 and starts scrounging for coins. I didn't get my full refund -and had left $1 tip on my $12.75 . I undoubtably will never return! This is why places like Starbucks are national, their employees are hospitable and trained. I always try the local digs but sometimes it's mismanaged and inconsistent. Do not go to Cuban Coffee Queen. Long waits and bad service.
He could've just given me a free coffee on my next visit and accepted the fact that he misordered a very simple order. Not sure if any one has ever been so rude, for no reason. I worked as a restaurant server for 10 years...there is a proper way to...
Read moreBeen very disappointed with Cuban Coffee Queen downtown lately. I understand it gets busy but there is no excuse for my food to be cold like it just came out the freezer when I am no more than 3 minutes walking distance from them. I ordered a delivery at 10:25am and was told no more than 45 minutes. 45+ minutes go by so i called to confirm it was delivery. They tell me they will be leaving in 5 minutes and i still didn’t get it for at least another 20 minutes. My food was so cold, i don’t think they warmed it up at all or they had it sitting out for that hour plus it took to deliver to me. My cheese bread has the outside paper stuck all over it, i couldn’t remove it from the cheese even on the inside of it. They did not give us any straws for our two drinks that came with the lid you NEED a straw for and did not give us any forks / spoons for our food that you cannot each with your hand. Again, we were only 3 minutes walking distance and we can’t leave our business to go pick it up. I don’t get it because as i walker by a few days ago and i’m assuming the manager was yelling at the delivery guys to do other things and the deliveries could wait a few minutes. we want our food hot and fresh. idk if it’s new management but the downtown location has been going downhill the...
