I stayed at Duvall Inn over the weekend from 4/8/16 to 4/9/16 even though I originally paid for 3 nights. I had a family emergency and had to check out early. I was part of a wedding party that booked most of the Inn. When I handed in my keys to the gentleman at the front desk at 8am, along with another couple who was checking out at the same time, he did not say anything. So we asked him if that was it. He said, "Yes, that is it." He never gave us any paperwork. Since I was in a rush, I didn't stop to question it. After I arrived home and handled said emergency, I called the same day to speak to the manager to see if I could get a refund. The receptionist told me to call back the next day when the manager was there. I called the next day and the manager said no I could not get a refund. Although I wasn't happy, I respected that. I called back the next day after further thought to ask if I could check in another night to make up for the day that I did not stay at hotel. The manager never returned my call. Now I am seeing that there is an additional charge of $48.38 on my bank statement and I have no idea what it is for. I'm really disappointed at this experience. I am a laid back person who rarely complains. As a former travel nurse, I have stayed in different hotels/Inn/suites all over the US. Also, I have traveled internationally and stayed in both hostels and hotels. I have never had such a disappointing and unprofessional experience.
FYI You can try to park for free on the street ,which is near impossible, or you can pay for $15 a night for Duval Inn parking which is off site. Breakfast is bagels, fruit cups, cereal. The Duvall Inn is under new management as of the end 2015. They also own the Pegasus which is not too far...
Read moreWe actually had a booked room at another place but there was an issue and we had to look for a new room. Since it was spontaneous, booking.com didn’t show too many options. So I picked this. The approval went quick and 10 minutes later we were able to check in.|It’s actually downtown. It’s a nice small and charming house. It’s not really a hotel. The room was clean and looked like on the pictures I’ve seen. But it’s not too big. The shower looked nice, but the bathroom is very small.|Parking was included, but the area where you can park or that parking spot belongs to this house is a few streets further away. So we didn’t like that. I don’t remember that it was mentioned in the descriptions. We parked next to the house, like a public parking spot and paid extra. But it was closer.|The outdoor area also looked cute but the pool is way smaller than it appears on the pictures.|We stayed for only one night. |Breakfast was included but we didn’t eat it. We went to a breakfast place.|You can kinda hear anything, but I’m glad there were no loud or drunk guests that night. So we can’t complain about that and we also didn’t hear anything from outside. I must say, that for a touristy city like this, I was surprised that everything closed by 11pm. |All together it was a ok stay. But the price for one night is very expensive! I do understand it’s downtown and it was last minute, but over 400$ (~380€) is way too much and doesn’t fit with this type of room. I’m sorry to say that. The price is technically what...
Read moreGood central location relative to the length of Duval St, but your half a block off Duval so you avoid all the hustle and bustle street noises. There is a bar across the street this gets revved up in the evening, but we were so tired of running around Duval we hardly noticed it when we fell in bed. The continental breakfast wasn't over the top, but sufficient to get you jump started in the morning.|The Havana room is decent size with a remodeled up-to-date bathroom. Everything was clean. The mini-split AC/Heat unit did a good job of keeping the room temperature comfortable.||We also stayed in the Caroline room due to weather/airplane cancelations one night.|It was a tighter fitting room all the way around, but was manageable. The window air conditioner was a bit louder (but look this as a plus, since it drowns out the bar noise and others sharing the stairwell!) The parking lot street light was pretty bright and the window blinds didn't quite cut the light at night. It could use a pull down light blocker shades. ||We plan to...
