I have been coming to this shop for 10 years since I graduated high school. I love their Cuban sandwich. Normally, my experience is OK to say the least. The cashier (Juanita is her name or something) is never friendly towards to me...at all! I donât know why never did a thing to her and Iâve always been respectful and professional. For example, last month I came in to order a sandwich... waited in line for 25 minutes, when I got close the counter one of the other employees said that next time just go directly to the counter since they are made upon request. Fast forward to today...I placed an hour an HOUR before I go pick it up. I get there...I see my sandwich made and waiting. There is a line, so what do I do? I go directly to the counter the cashier looks at me says get in line.. I say maâam Iâm just paying I already ordered. She then raises her voice and repeats âget in lineâ. So I get in line for 15 minutes, get to the counter...I attempt to ask her what the advantage of placing an order prior if weâre still getting in line. She cuts me off mid sentence and says âNAME ON THE ORDERâ .....I tell her and she goes back and brings back TWO Cubans I only ordered one..I tell her I didnât order two, she says thatâs the only pickup order we have two Cubans. I repeat maâam but I didnât order two she just looks at me....like Iâm crazy, out of respect for rest of the line behind me, I said okay lady just give me what you have ...so I ended up paying more than I wanted for an order that I didnât order. I enjoy the food but I canât stand her service or...

Thatâs where the real treasure lies. You walk in and see all them pans laid outâribs, chicken, rice, beans, and sides stacked up like a chuckwagon feastâand you just know youâre about to eat good.
Those ribs fall clean off the bone, tender as can be, and that rice soaks up all the flavor like it was meant to be there. The sides ainât no afterthought eitherâcorn, veggies, rollsâall of it tastes like it was cooked slow with care, the way familyâs been doinâ it for generations. Ainât no small portions here, either. They pile your plate high enough to keep a cowboy full till sundown.
What I like most is the feeling behind the food. It donât taste like some quick bite you grab in townâit feels like a home-cooked meal, warm and familiar. To me, this place ainât just a restaurant. Itâs comfort, itâs tradition, and itâs good eatinâ every...
Read moreSo this place first started as a tiny Hispanic grocery store. Of course it has expanded and has the to go food area. I never tried their Cuban sandwiches, but I know for a lot of people it's hit or miss. The empanadillas, pastelillos, piononos, etc. to me are not good. You can tell they aren't not fresh a lot of the times and the taste is hit or miss. Most of the times miss. The food is good, you get a lot for a low price, they have a huge drink selection along with freshly squeezed juices. My favorite is the fresh passion fruit juice. Also the selection of food is a good variation, not only do they have Puerto Rican food but a variety of Caribbean food. Also they don't have any good ventilation so the smell of fried food sticks really bad. Something quick and cheap for lunch this is the...
