Sadly, this restaurants kitchen has gone even further downhill, and the parking lot being empty shows it.
We went on a Saturday at lunch and while every restaurants parking lot in the area was full, this one had one car parked in it. Over the years, we stopped coming because of annoying things like rude hostess, very long waits for just fries and cheese, or being served 6 fries at a time, or blaring music, not even ordering ahead with pick up could make a faster wait. But the bar was always fun and servers nice.
The servers have always been very nice and still are. I feel really bad for them because their tips can't be very good with a restaurant this empty. Its unfair, but most people usually determine their tip off service and the food. The kitchen is the problem here.
There were some new things on the menu. The problem was never the menu, it's the kitchen. It felt strange being asked at the door if we had ever been to "this Red Robin," then asked again by our server the exact same question. Please stop making them ask this. It makes things weird at the start. The problem is the kitchen.
Drinks are good and always have been good. The problem is the kitchen.
They did a little redecorating and glad the latex balloons are gone. We use to just get food to go when our latex allergic family member wanted Red Robin. But it was standard Red Robin, the problem wasn't the decor it's the kitchen.
When our food arrived, it looked good but oddly, it came faster than it could have possibly come if it was made fresh when we placed the order. I was prepared to wait a long time like before but it came out fast, tooooooo fast. Leftover reheat fast. The problem is the kitchen.
I had a club, that getting out fast was no surprise, it's a sandwich and no one else was being served in the restaurant. The bread was cold and lumpy instead of an actual croissant. I just took the bread off and ate the insides, which was really good. The beer cheese for my fries tasted good but looked like it had been microwaved in the dish. My husband's burger was also really good but he good sick from it for 2 days. The fries were obviously prefried and left somewhere warming for way to long. They got to the table already looking old and not servable. We were one of the first people coming in for lunch getting old fries????? They had a ridiculous amount of seasoning on them. Like, let's hide these shriveled, soggy looking fries with tons of seasoning type of over seasoning. Something an 8 year old would do to hide something. What else are they doing back in the kitchen of an empty restraunt where they can't drop some fries when they're ordered? When I asked for fries that had less seasoning, the server recommended I get an order with no seasoning and season them myself. This was a fantastic suggestion because the actual fresh fries with no seasoning that came out were fresh, hot, and delicious. Order something that can't be precooked or pre assembled because..... The problem is the kitchen here.
The shortbread dessert was weird. I don't recommend it.
I won't be trying to come here anymore......the problem...
Read moreFirst time at this location last week and it will be the last time. If this were ROCKET SCIENCE, the 1-star rating would be sufficient, but since it's food service, 1-star is excessive.
First, the cute little hispanic hostess seated us and spoke with such a thick accent I couldn't understand what she said. I asked her to slow down and she repeated her words with even more rapidity. Still don't know what she said since then she just walked away.
Next, it's nice to know that the management hires the handicapped. We asked the waitress if the music could be turned down some since we couldn't hear the conversation across the table. She said "sure," but the volume was never lowered, so we can only assume that she was either deaf or low-level IQ. If she relayed the message, my appologies, but then the above criticism belongs to the manager. Music was extremely inappropriate for a dinner atmosphere. When will these facilities learn that just because people go out, doesn't mean EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE A PARTY.
Next, it shouldn't take an hour to get your food after you've been seated. When the place is 90% empty, it is a sign that corporate needs to get on the ball and hire new management. There is just no excuse in the restaurant business to make customers wait that long.
Next, the waitress didn't come around to check on us until most of the meal was finished. By that time, it's way too late to do anything should there have been a need to.
After our meal was finished, another guy who never introduced himself came to the table and asked how our meal was. We can only assume he was the manager or the shift manager. But he should have introduced himself for sure.
Atmosphere is cold and hard. No wonder the music was too loud, it was bouncing all over the walls and floor - especially when there were very few bodies to absorb it.
Bill for two cheese burgers and two glasses of wine was over $50. That is worse than being held up by highwaymen. It's even worse when you get sub-standard service and come away with a headache from the noise.
Needless to say, our first visit will be our only visit. Remember, this isn't rocket science. If they need us to tell them how to do their job, they should...
Read moreSecond and last time I will be eating here (the first visit just as frustrating as this visit). Ordered curbside at 6:30 and they said it would be ready for pickup at 6:50. I arrived and parked at curbside at 6:53. I waited til 7:10 before going inside. Waited 6 more minutes before talking to the "to go/curbside lady". When I stated my wait time, she went to check and came back saying it was flagged as an allergy item so they wanted to know what my allergy was. This was my mistake ordering online, as there was no allergy. So, the lady leaves and returns with my food. The ticket item had a timestamp of 6:53. So, I asked if my food has been under the heatlamp for the past 27 minutes (as it was 7:27 at this point) which obviously they denied. I gave them the pointer that if they were unsure of an allergy they should've called since they ask for your number. Anyway, I get to my car and open the bag to check if my food was even warm anymore. I ordered the pub mac n cheese as one of the meals and what I received was NOT worth the $8, as it was the size of my palm. Pretzel bites I ordered were lukewarm, burger seemed warm still. But I go back in to get new mac n cheese. No one was manning the hostess table so after waiting 3 minutes I finally travelled back to the bar to ask for a manager. They replaced my mac n cheese and didn't offer any sort of compensation. I go home. I'm hungry. Not done yet! The mac n cheese had MAYBE three crumbs on it, pretzel bites completely cold, stale croutons on the salad, and the burger I bought was missing toppings. So now I'm not only hangry, but I ended up throwing out almost half of the entire...
