This is a long, but thorough review. TLDR: One of the best family entertainments in the area, flawed by their lackluster customer service and quality of food, impacting the overall experience to what could potentially be a top tier activity for the family.
My youngest son has been asking about Chuck E Cheese for the past week, and since they remodeled, we were curious of the changes. I went there on a Saturday afternoon, and there was a lot of customers. Even as busy as it was, there was plenty of seating available and the cleanliness wasn’t bad for the amount of traffic in the building. I came with my family, a 4 year old, 11 year old, and 14 year old.
The upgraded arcade is what makes this place really shine. They added a huge amount of arcade games, for both the kids section and the main area. There was a large variety in the style of games, some of which even entertained my oldest son, who on previous visits would typically stay on his phone due to boredom. Most games were up and running, it a few machines were down and some had broken features that made the game unplayable. Other than that, my only suggestion is that they add a few more 4-player arcade games.
The menu had a typical but decent variety. Pizza, breadsticks, chicken nuggets, a few appetizers, and various desserts. Prices were slightly higher than I felt they were valued at, but still very much within a reasonable price range. We ordered one large traditional pepperoni pizza, one large supreme stuffed crust pizza, a medium order of buffalo wings, and a salad bar. Added 120 of unlimited play for a total bill of just over $100. They gave me a card with a number and I went to find a booth for the family.
Here’s where my gripe lies. The food took over an hour to arrive! My kids were distracted for the first 30 minutes or so playing in the arcade, but when they came back complaining of hunger, I started becoming impatient. At the 45 minute mark, I inquired about my order at the front desk, where my anger was propelled my anger to another level. After going back and forth on the radio, the cashier nonchalantly informs me that their reasoning on why NONE of my food has arrived in these past 45 minutes was because it was all frozen, so it took longer to prepare. WHAT??? I just spent +$100 here, so I wasn’t accepting that answer, but after prying more and receiving the same repetitive answer, I gave up. With no accountability, no attempt to service the customer, not even so much as an apology for the inconvenience or the wait, I walked back to my booth in frustration. I wait another 15 minutes , and just over an hour after I initially placed my order, the food finally came out.
The traditional pizza was beyond delicious and contends with most pizza in the entire Killeen/HH area. The stuffed crust pizza was extremely disappointing. It tasted like a cheap frozen pizza you buy from a grocery store. To make it worse, it was undercooked. The crust was soft, like slightly soggy soft, and the toppings looked and tasted like they barely even thawed out. The wings were slightly undercooked as well. The number of wings they served is countered by small size of the wings themselves, which makes them far too overpriced. Salad bar was satisfying and had options other than just salad, such as fruits, veggies, jello, potato salad, and macaroni salad.
They have a average selection of prizes, mostly geared to smaller kids, but you have to really grind away for tickets to get something decent. (100 tickets for an air head though?)
Overall a good experience because my kids enjoyed it, due solely to the arcade. But if you don’t service the parents, they will look for alternatives, especially if they feel they don’t get the value of what they pay for. If the majority of my bill goes towards food, then I have much higher expectations in the quality and timeless of the food. If we come back, we’ll eat beforehand and definitely won’t be ordering food again.

Read morePoor Quality with a lot of potential and crucial growing pains. I visited the location on a Sunday late afternoon around 4:20 with my wife and 3 young children. The greeters at the door are reasonably polite as the do smile and say please and thank you. The young woman at the front order counter does not enjoy her job one bit, she handled our needs considering we had to wait 20 minutes for the manager to perform a 45 second tasks due to an error with the "Add Points" kiosk. We ended up buying points via the front desk but the manager on duty after a very tardy arrival, passed the blame immediately to the front counter operator even tho I was not extremely worried about the 20 dollars now since I'd purchased the points and my kids were gone off to play. There was nothing serious happenejng yet the apparently stressed manager continuously told me that "she was not supposed to do that" . I didn't care at all of the process as I'm sure it was ridiculous compared to the obvious simple route, yet he explained it anyway.
Later afterwards I ordered 22.70 worth of food just to find a discrepancy...a pubic hair on the bottom order of our wings...I'm disgusted. And since they made this a big deal and apparently tampered with our food and gave us an attitude solely because their machines are having issues and their games do not work properly, I've decided it was fitting to make their issues an issue. This needs...
Read moreHorrible service yesterday, the young lady with two puff ball and blonde hair was very rude to my mom. Her wings weren’t cooked all the way and I felt them they felt like raw meat. And my mom asked if we could get another fresh batch of wings and the lady said yes. But the young lady returned and told my mom she could not get another fresh batch until an hour later. We went to the manager up front with the curly long hair and wanted a refund but could not give us a refund. So she gave us credit for a toy for my nephew, the manger told the girl with blonde long hair to give us any toy we wanted at the bottom. When the manager walked off the girl proceeds to ask the rude young lady with two puff balls, “so what am I doing, I don’t ring it up?” And my mom asked if there was a problem with getting toy of her choice the manager gave her. And when my mom explained what happened the manager became rude towards my mom and said pick something now. And I could tell my mom felt so uncomfortable and we chose a toy and left immediately. The whole staff needs to be replaced, this is a kids play area and the fact you have staff that are young and rude makes it even worse. Will never come back again and will definitely be spreading the word to everyone it’s best to go to Austin and actually have great service then settle for Killeen...
