The past several times my family has eaten at this restraunt the food quality has been below what it should be. Having eaten at Popeyes in other locations such as Gatlinburg, which was very good, I have a good baseline for comparison. The time before we got a family meal and had to wait which is expected for a large order, but the chicken ended up being extremely dry and some of it was actually cold leading me to believe that they mixed the fresh chicken we were waiting for with some they had already pulled and packed for our order. The cash register didn't want to work to take our card payment so for the inconveniences they gave us extra food, which we were unable to eat. A few months later we decided to give it another try. The quality of the food had been in decline the past few times but we figured we would give them a one more chance to see if anything has improved. This time we ordered a family box of tenders and since we all love the red beans and rice we got both sides and an extra one of it. We waited as expected and took the food home to eat. The tenders had a rubbery texture and snapped a little when you bit them. I looked to see if it was cooked correctly and the meat looked like it was done. It didn't have much taste and even the sause wasn't enough to fix it. In addition the red beans and rice was not at all the quality that was expected. Some of the rice was crunchy and undercooked and, like the chicken, the expected flavor wasn't there. My entire family confirmed that they had the same experience and out of 12 tenders only 4 were eaten. Of the 3 large sides of the red beans and rice only one container was emptied and most of it was uneaten. The only thing that had the expected flavor was the bisquets. I'm sorry but the quality of the food lately has just not been there and we have given you numerous chances so we will no longer be a patron of...

Though actually they're just supportive.) Food was cooked very well in 4th month by time I was able to get a meal inside there. Since then the place is like a desert! Hardly a car seen! Now I see why! Manager, Mitch stated he's doing his best. Hum.....maybe.
But if that 3-pc dinner is a testament then it falters and proves Mitch is destroying the business!
Coleslaw has a bitter herb (maybe Anise). Yuck!!! Phew!
Chicken far too overcooked! Even the top of the thigh meat was same color as the skin and so tough it couldn't be chewed with excellent teeth!
Biscuit and the Red Beans & Rice were still pretty good. Although biscuit has wrong flour and oil in it. (How about offering an organic wheat biscuit using Olive or Avocado or Canola oil versus diabetes-causing Corn Oil?)
Overall, being from Chicago where there are multiple Popeye's throughout the city............... I rate this location a mere 3 at best! And that's doing them a favor!
And considering I had just ate at a Chicago Popeyes just days before...and the food was SUPERBLY COOKED... biscuits melted in your mouth, meat was juicy & tender, crust wasn't overly hard & tough, coleslaw wasn't overly sweet and bitter but instead delicioso!!
Well let's just say, Kingsport get your act together! If you don't know how to cook the food right then do this region of the U.S. a well-deserved favor and get the hell out of the kitchen! Matter of fact, just pack-up and leave town! Because if.....IF....you're going to carry the 'POPEYES' name then carry it with respect and cook the food right! Stop making a mockery out of a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give a zero, I absolutely would. Quick stop this afternoon. They appeared well staffed. Waited patiently for several minutes for counter service. The lady in front of us ordered only a drink as she was waiting for a pick up order. After waiting on her, the person at the counter then returned to frontline order filling duties and did not take our order. Ok ...it will be a minute. I tried to be understanding. Until...she grabbed like 3 receipts that immediately just printed after serving the person in front of us and proceeded to immediately fill those orders instead of serving the customer right in front of her. Bumfuzzled I was like okay "do I not look worthy of service?". Me and my daughter were shrugging shoulders uncertain what her issue was. The other lady working the front told her she needed to get our order before filling the online order. She literally snapped back at her "no I don't". She insisted she does. Begrudgingly she literally flopped over to the counter and it was obvious that she did not want to take an order. I said "nevermind". Why? Because our planned meal while we waited an eternity was about a $50 order. I ain't paying her paycheck. By the way we are clean, average people and that should not even matter. Never, ever before and never, ever again. We settled for Chick-fil-A instead. (10/10 recommend).
0/10 for this lousy establishment -most undeserving of your business or time. Never have I ever seen such rude, disrespectful behavior to a co-worker and certainly never to any customer. Your business is not appreciated at this location. Spend your hard earned money with...
