Longfellow's Coffee — Restaurant in Kinnelon

My third or fourth time at long fellows and I am extremely turned off to the point of no return! After placing a $40+ order of coffees I was waiting for all 6 of my drinks. Mine came out first and I did not like it so I kindly asked the barista if I could order (AND PAY) for a new drink. I also offered to pull over to the side in effort to not hold up the line. She told me no and that I would have to get back in line after already waiting 30 minutes to order. Not to mention we left a nice tip! I said “I really have to get back in line I can’t just wait on the side?” She said “no we have a line and you have to get back in it to order”. I live in Kinnelon and I have been coming here for years. Always had great coffee and even greater staff. Lately though , my coffee has been very inconsistent and new management seems more focused on making drinks his way and not accommodating simple favors like when I ask for one pump of syrup in my drink. I buy brownies for my little ones sometimes when I drive thru and the last few times I was given expired pastries and when I went back I was given another one! Whoever gave me it didn’t check the date when I specifically told them the one I got was expired. They probably have more on the shelf out of date. Looking for coffee on Sun morning driving back from a wedding in Vernon but resisting the ubiquitous Duncan stores, I saw their sign from the top of the hill and thought, “oh there’s an interesting unique place that’s probably run by some local entrepreneurs.” We turned in and the result? Great coffee, chai tea, nice warm fresh croissants, with our order taken by one of a lovely couple who came out and walked to our car window to take our order so it would be waiting for us when we pulled up to the hut window. Lovely smiles, and clear teamwork as I noticed the partners switching to go out and take orders for the cars behind us.
