Okay, so, I like to be fair and judge everything as a whole rather than let my emotions get the better of me. I like to be objective if you will, you know, so that actual improvement can be made.
As I sit here in my room writing this review rather than eating my food because I want to write this as my thoughts and experience are still fresh, I've come to realize that training on proper portioning is required at almost ALL of the Chipotle locations but some more than others. Unfortunately, the Lanstar Chipotle is one of those locations that needs it most. Well, at least for a particular little old lady that, for some reason, just can't stay away from the serving line.
Every person that has walked in and seen that lady, walks right out every time. I too, have grown to dislike her service after being served by her a total of maybe 2-3 times total. Mind you, I come every day now so I have a pretty good sense of who will "skimp" on the food portions and who won't. So far, everyone seems to get it, and if they don't I politely ask for a little more of what they short me on and they add it with no extra charge and with a smile.
I like to think they don't have a problem with it, seeing as how I'm pleasant everytime I come, and how I ask. Despite my pleasant attitude, she still gave me a laughable amount of rice and carnitas, and likely would have skimped out on the other toppings had she done the rest. Unfortunately, there seems to be a language barrier between her and English speaking customers such as myself, so articulating exactly what I wanted was difficult without the help of another customer who was so kind as to translate for me.
Sadly, the little old lady behind the glass who's name I don't know, caught more of an attitude as soon as she learned what I was asking for. However, she seemed to catch an attitude before that, seeing as how she couldn't understand me, which I'm sure was the initial cause of that attitude. Despite this, I maintained my pleasant tone and simply asked for a little extra rice which I had said from the beginning, but due to the aforementioned I guess she didn't understand, but I digress.
Up until the customer had translated for me she was filling a whole other bowl with rice which had intially confused me because nobody had given me "extra rice" like that before, but I thought that's how she did it so I didn't question it at first. However after hearing her ask what toppings I wanted on the other "side of rice" I then said "Oh no, I don't want any toppings I just wanted a little more rice" reffering to the one bowl because the amount was insufficient.
Upon hearing my request from the other customer translating for me, she then threw the rice back into its container and started throwing the packaging back in place before getting a little container and filling it with rice. So, after that she asked if I wanted beans and told her "No thank you", before she continued on to the meat to which I asked for carnitas, due to there not being much left in the container she had to walk to the back and grab some from the chipotlane prep area.
When she returned, I noticed the meager portion and asked for a little more from what remained in the container in the line prep area, politely, of course. She then angrily put a little more in my bowl before passing it to the next person on the toppings side who had no problem at all giving me what I usually get everytime. Unfortunately, I got charged for the little clear cup full of rice when checking out, so that was disappointing.
Anyhow, today's (6-6-25) experience aside, I will now briefly talk about my experience with the Chipotlane. The Chipotlane i thought was supposed more convenient and I had hoped would eliminate the portion problem, but unfortunately i couldn't be more wrong. After having utilized the Chipotlane about 7 or so times I no longer use it.
This is because at first, I would order the tacos which would come just fine but when I started ordering the bowl the portions were worse than going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis particular location of chipotle is a joke. Unfortunately, it is my 'home location' because of how close it is to my house. Slow service everytime. All employees literally have no idea what they're doing everytime I come in here. Exhibit A: I placed out a take out order today, and it said my pick up time was 7:40pm. I pulled up 15 minutes early and realized there was no line inside, so I might as well just get in line because it would be faster. The guy working the cash wrap suggested I "cancel" the order on the app if I was going to get in line instead, I asked him how do I do that (because after vigorous search on the app I couldn't find it), so I turned to him to help me. He replied "ma'am I don't know, I just work here."
How does that even make sense? If you work here... you should know the answer to the suggestion YOU gave ME. And if you work here, you should have training on what to do at this point?
That being said, while there was absolutely NO line inside, prett much an empty restaurant, I literally had to wait the full 15 additional minutes because I was stuck with the "7:30 take out slot". So I sat there waiting for take out to make my order 15 minutes later, in AN EMPTY CHIPOTLE.
I understand if the take-out area is backed-up and behind on orders, but if I am here and willing to get in line because there is hardly a line (1 person in front of me, one person behind me) inside so I can get my food faster, then that should be an option. How is it that the take-out people are 10 orders deep, but when I actually show up inside, the inside people just stand around because again, there's not many people. Like if I'm here, explaining that I did a takeout, but realize there's no line in here and am literally in line to get the food that I PAID FOR to get done early, shouldn't the line help make take out order when no one else is physically in line?
That being said, this was just the tipping point of a long-overdue 1-star rating for just such a slow, constant lack of service at this...
