Recently I was doing some work down in the old city area of Knoxville and found one of the most beautiful special vintage stores ever. First going down the stairs to this UpCycle store which turns out to be a very, very special store; I was amazed! I was greeted by the owner whose name is Javier and spent some time talking with him about his beautiful vintage store and especially impressed when he showed me some of his creations which are handmade one-of-a-kind hoodies that are created and sewn by him from woven blankets and quilts. Amazing items that are all one of a kind pieces of Art (my opinion) and he sells these Artwear creations at extremely affordable prices. Javier also makes other beautiful special wares which include duffel bags, tote bags, purses; I think he will make almost anything that the customer requests him to. I asked about him doing a shirt from a blanket I designed and had custom made (I am a Designer). As for the store itself it's one of the nicest vintage stores I've ever been to and I've been to many, many in many cities; The Back Pocket stands out to be above most especially considering his low price points and the gentrified use of the space that Javier and his wife created. The Back Pocket is a fantastic Store; a great asset for Knoxville and Old City!

The Back Pocket has something for everyone - inclusive sizing, a variety of styles, and a generous selection of men’s / women’s / nonbinary clothing, accessories, + footwear (my favorites are the cowgirl boots).

The pricing of items is fair and on point - and even beats some of the local “thrift” store pricing in Knoxville.

For the few times I’ve shopped here, I’ve been blown away every time at what pieces have just come in and how freakin cool they are!!

The Back Pocket is one of the most beautiful and thoughtfully curated spaces I’ve ever been to. Walking down the stairs into the shop is a transportive experience (the vibes are immaculate). The owners are also the kindest and coolest people! The clothing is always high quality and feels like I get to raid the closet of the coolest girl in school. What’s more, the prices are beyond reasonable!! I get compliments on the items I pick up from here all the time and I can’t rave enough about this place.
