This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any restaurant anywhere in my entire 40 years of life. Before I continue, I'd like to be clear...this isn't about Calhoun's Turkey Creek, nor most of the staff including the manager who did try her best to make up for the appalling service experience my wife and I endured on our 7 year anniversary no less.... This is about 1 young male server who didn't ever give us his name or I'd share it here so that others can avoid such a degrading experience. My wife and I waited more than a few minutes before being greeted and the restaurant wasn't busy as we came in between 3-4pm. This happens sometimes, however upon our servers arrival, he stood next to the table, didn't look up at us, didn't say his name, didn't smile, didn't ask us if we were having a good evening, nothing...he didn't even say hello....he just asked us if we wanted drinks. So, I ordered a beer and my wife a cocktail for our anniversary, and he walked away so abruptly that we didn't have the opportunity to tell him that we wanted a couple of appetizers also... Side note...I've worked in front of house restaurant work for 20 years...and this young man didn't ask for my wife's ID nor mine upon ordering our alcoholic beverages. Normally when the Alcohol Beverage Commission comes in to check if servers are serving minors or not... they'll send an of age officer and an underage cadet...if this had been them...he would have been fired on the spot, and Calhoun's Turkey Creek would've had to pay a hefty fine... luckily we were not the ABC board clearly...this is where I began to worry about our experience. Upon returning many long minutes later with 2 drinks he then asked if we wanted to order. Here we got to tell him about the appetizers we wanted. We requested a little time for the rest. He abruptly leaves again...and at this point I noticed that we didn't have silverware, or napkins, or anything else besides the 2 drinks. When the appetizers came out I requested two app plates for my wife and I seeing as how we are not animals...though this server made us feel that way. He leaves abruptly again...so I had to go get silverware from an unoccupied table for my wife and I. All of this is taking a very long time. Calhouns offers a very nice bread service with your meal....and our server didn't bring us any...at all. We would've asked but he would give us just enough time to say one thing then leave with zero engagement, no smile...the coldest human being I've ever encountered... It was really that bad. Then after ever more time passes our drinks were empty, and we wanted some water to go with our drinks...I asked him for another round, and an extra pour for my wife as the first drink was very mild. He leaves again....we've not seen him in forever...and at this point I'd had enough and I asked to speak to the manager. She came to the table...and introduced herself, and was very kind. I can't remember her name...I was too upset...but she was great. And tried her best to salvage our anniversary meal... So then...he spoke to his other tables around us clearly, politely it seemed...they all had bread, and silverware and a level of service that I assume he didn't believe my wife and I deserved...his tone and demeanor would literally change when he walked over to us. After his manager spoke to us...he came to the table with a stack of dirty plates that he had just bussed from the table next to ours and SET DIRTY PLATES ON OUR TABLE! I wish I was exaggerating, but I'm not. And with an insisting tone, demanded to know what was wrong. My wife and I tried to tell him the manager had taken care of it...but he wouldn't stop harassing me and my wife. So, I went through the list for him... He left and continued to angrily stare at us to the point we had to leave. There is more to the story...but I'm out of characters, so I suppose it's email corporate. If you dine at this restaurant. Beware of a young skinny server with long brown hair and a man bun. He may just treat you and your spouse...

Read moreHorrible Experience! Went to have a nice dinner for our Son’s B-Day and it was anything but! 15 minutes to get our drinks, and had to ask if we could order apps before our server wanted to walk away. When she brought apps I asked if we could order because everything seemed to be taking awhile, my husband ordered a steak they were out of on a Monday night! 10 minutes after we ordered the kitchen mgr comes out to tell us they are also out of broccoli, says he will take care of our apps for the inconvenience so we thanked him and tried to move forward enjoying ourselves. My mom and daughter in law replaced their broccoli with salad which was immediately delivered but not all salads for the table were at the same time. Moving forward, dinner comes about 45 minutes later which consisted of over cooked steak (which we said nothing about) 1 side of broccoli (which apparently they were out of). Pulled pork with no bbq sauce and then mine (a Rare Chicken Burger...Yes Rare...Chicken!) server was notified, mgr came over and asked to replace it which I declined at this point. I said “it’s okay, I’ll still eat my fries” which the server then took from me and left me with nothing! My husband gave me his half eaten spinach so that was my meal. Being my sons bday and not wanting to upset him I said nothing at the moment. I went to the restroom and asked for mgr card that I could speak with her the next day about our experience....called today with no response from any mgr! This is very sad to me as I worked for the corporation for many years as a manager and this is not how things would have EVER happened in my restaurant! Not sure what’s going on there but we will...
