Went about a week ago and should have known that there were going to be issues when the workers were actively ARGUING with each other about whose job it was to HAND ME MY FOOD... while I was standing there waiting on it. Came in with two other people and got the all-you-can-eat. Requested refills for myself and my brother from one of the workers who looked like she was ready to quit the job. 20 minutes later, people around us are getting their food, but we get no refills. Went up and put in for refills with ANOTHER worker, but this one looked like he was ready to quit YESTERDAY. Surprise... 20 minutes later and still no refills. So after over an hour in the restaurant, we had to leave so I could go to work. I went to let them know that neither of us had gotten refills after asking for them twice, and now we had to leave. Could I get a coupons or something for the next time we came through. So they go to get the manager. She comes out and immediately looks defensive before I even say anything. I explain what happened... and all she does is looks at her order log and keeps repeating over and over and over that no one had put in the order... with the tone and implication that this somehow makes me a liar?? When what she's repeating over and over to me is EXACTLY WHAT I SAID MUST HAVE HAPPENED. That it seems like no one put in our order for refills. The only compensation we were (begrudgingly, mind you) offered was given a couple of handfuls of fries and a few pieces of chicken fingers to take with us for later. And surprise surprise... when you go to a place so you can get FRESH fingers and fries? Reheating them later in a microwave makes them rather inedible.
If someone in upper management reads this, just know that I'm a repeat customer who tends to stop in at least once every two weeks, and with any number of 8 other people who go with us on any given day. So just know that Dentons has lost NINE repeat and long-standing customers. We gave the manager the opportunity to do something about our experience, but nothing was done.
That said, the (little bit) of food that we got was good. So I suppose if that's what matters and you never have to deal with anything where you're expecting a modicum of customer service, you're golden.
UPDATE: Nothing came about my informing them of this happening except for the copy/paste "damage control" response that you can see below. I suppose it's more important for them to not do anything after being given TWO opportunities to make things right in order to keep NINE long-time repeat customers than it is to make the best financial decision for the store. Sounds like a matter of pride is getting in the way of the business. Good luck keeping your last Knoxville...
Read moreThis was my very first time trying denton family foods. I have ate at many restraunts and have expectations of what I would hope too see. Starting off we went through the drive-thru and felt like we were being rushed even after letting them know this was our first time. I ordered the slawdog and sweet potato fries, my significant other ordered a burger and normal fries and we also got funnel cakes. We pull up to the window and I didn't see any mask in sight on anyone's faces in the middle of a pandemic. Also the place just looked unsanitary. So that was already a no for me just from a service point of view. Anyways, we take the food home and start to try it out. From first glance it looks like cafeteria food from your typical highschool, and guess what it tastes like cafeteria food from your typical highschool for 26$. FOR 26$. The sweet potato fries taste as if they were seasoned with only brown sugar, the normal fries were bland and absolutely needed salt. The burger was okay at best, along with the slaw dog. I actually ended up not touching any of the fries they were so bad. So for 26$ I got unsanitary, and rude service. Bland and overpriced food, and was still left hungry. The only thing that deserves high praise is for the funnel cakes. Other than that, I personally will never be back to this place. Take your 26$ and head down the road to McDonald's cause it even tastes better than this and that's saying alot because I...
Read moreWish I could give a zero star service for this restaurant. Have a 2-year-old and just needed to eat and they had every door locked to a lobby called the restaurant manager was told that they did not have the staff to support the dining room the only problem was they had five employees one of which was sweeping the dining room that they were not allowing anyone in. I've never been met with a more rude response from a manager when I clearly explain that my 2-year-old daughter just needed to walk in to order food and was told that they didn't need our business and that they were too short staff and didn't have anyone available to place an order in the lobby. I understand being short-staffed but when you literally have someone just sweeping a empty lobby I think that person could take an order I will definitely never be eating at this restaurant again which was very dirty by the way and I'll be making sure that everyone in the Knoxville community knows that this does not cater to families or kids and that they don't care about their local community and will flat out lie to you...
