Kazoku Hibachi Express — Restaurant in Knoxville

I went to the location on Broadway and the food is usually good. Today it was not good at all. First the lady at the window that takes the orders had a bad attitude but she always has one. I placed my order letting her know that on one of the orders that I only want carrots and would like extra carrots since that one is not getting zucchini. She asked if I wanted onions on both and told her yes I do. When I got my order there wasn’t extra carrots on the one order. I went back to the window and explained this to her. She then proceeded to tell me it was extra carrots but I looked at my other order that I didn’t ask for extra carrots and it was the same small amount. I didn’t argue with her I just said well I would like extra carrots how much. She said 4 dollars. I was aggravated because I just spent 27 dollars for the food but I paid it and left. Now I get home to eat it and there aren’t any onions on either one of my orders. The carrot tastes like they are straight out of the can, the rice was very dry and so was the chicken. I also only received shrimp sauce not any teriyaki sauce to make this dry food better. For the prices and the service you get I will just go else where not worth...

This was my first time ordering from them. Had the chicken and steak; along with egg rolls. Tender steak and great chicken. The vegetables were done to just the right quality; still the right amount of crunch left. The rice was wonderful. The egg rolls were huge and they were great.

The only negatives were the sauces. The shrimp sauce was too thin. Every Japanese steakhouse and hibachi I e ever been too it was thicker but Kazoku is really thin. Too thin for me as it just falls right off the food. The egg roll dipping sauce too was as thin as water. Also wish it had been thicker for the purpose of dipping.

(Broadway truck location) The staff are soooo kind, the food is always hot, fresh, and sooo yummy! If you’re wanting to try this place, I would recommend going in person to order (DoorDash can be questionable and it’s not Kazoku’s fault) I see reviews about the wait being a long time, this place is FRESH made-to-order food y’all, not fast food. I’d rather wait for fresh made-to-order food than to get old, stale food that is fast. I will without a doubt give this place my business, they’re more than deserving of 5 stars.
