I just had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious and satisfying lunch at Kianga's Kitchen! My partner and I both ordered large plates, with great portions. Between us, we tried the plantains, akara patties, collard greens, sweet potatoes, walnut meat, and the beans and rice. Everything was so so so delicious! The plantains were perfectly crispy on the outside, yet soft and sweet on the inside. Yum! The collard greens were amazingly seasoned and tender (the greens were the star of the show for both of us!). The sweet potatoes were made with pineapple, which I'd never had before, but I really enjoyed the added sweetness and texture that they brought to the dish. The walnut meat ("neat") was great, and again, perfectly seasoned. The owner also shared some of their special hot sauce that they're working on, which I loved on my collard greens. We quenched our thirst with their cold herbal teas (Pro tip! Mix the hibiscus and ginger tea together!). Flavorful and hearty vegan food is a gem to find, and this place is it! Plus, the owners and all staff were very helpful, kind, and generous in spirit. Give this place a try; you won't regret it! To Kianga's Kitchen, may your business be...

Read moreMy wife and I stopped by Marble City market today right after church. We are vegetarian and we were just checking out the option as it had been a while since we've been in the food hall. We came across KIANGA'S KITCHEN and decided to have a quick lunch. We are glad we did. It's difficult to find vegan or vegetarian food here in Knoxville. We are so happy to see a vegan alternative at The Marble City market.
This food was delicious. My wife ordered the black beans and rice, collard greens and the Walnut meat alternative they call Neat. I had the braised cabbage, the mac and not cheese, the Akara patties (very similar to a falafel) and we also each had an unsweetened ginger tea. This food was very well prepared and delicious. It was also accompanied by their homemade spicy pepper sauce, which was very tangy and savory. We...
