La michoacana delights — Restaurant in Knoxville

So good! Just try it! I was a little worried about coming here being a Southern white girl with rusty Spanish but that was not an issue. This is a laid back family type operation, which I really enjoyed. The decor is very colorful and fun, bathrooms are clean. I was greeted promptly and the woman behind the counter was friendly. She offered to let me try any of the agua frescas. My son had an ice cream in a cone, which he devoured. I had the strawberries and cream with ice cream topper which was amazing and a huge portion. I took home a horchata and fruit agua fresca, both also delicious (though I wish the horchata had more of a cinnamon flavor like most Mexican restaurants). What an awesome addition to the Fountain City neighborhood! We tried the mangonada - a mango smoothie with chamoy and big chunks of mango. So good! It was sweet, savory and spicy. Then we tried the cookies & cream and the strawberries and cream paletas (ice cream pops)...amazing! I still have 1 guava to try.
