This is hands down, the best Starbucks in Knoxville. I am a frequent Starbucks customer, and have been to every Starbucks in West Knoxville and Downtown. No other location even COMPARES to this one. My drink is always well made, and ready for me from mobile app order pickup when I arrive. At other locations, I have noticed the inconsistency in the making of my drink, even though I order the same thing nearly every time. This location ALWAYS get it right. They also seem to be slightly less busy than other locations like Starbucks at Newcomb or Starbucks Cedar Bluff Road so I’m sure that helps. Nonetheless, this location is still busy at peak times.
Not only the consistency and accuracy of their drinks, they are very kind and warm and friendly. Every time I walk in, I’m always greeted and said goodbye have a nice day to when I leave. This is a small, but very moving gesture that keeps me coming back. It’s the little things in life. I will drive out of the way to come to this location because I know I’m gonna get my money’s worth and walk out with a smile on my face. The baristas are so kind and I love to also see the diversity. I even have noticed that they will draw on their chalkboards to celebrate different cultural holidays. That really touches me and my family, as we saw our own heritage and holidays represented with beautiful art. Whatever y’all are doing, keep doing it. Thank you Starbucks...
Read moreStarbucks seems to have an unfair reputation amongst certain self-described "coffee snobs" for serving burnt coffee. Okay, if you don't like dark-roast coffee brewed stoutly, don't order it. A million Italians and three million French love their coffee this way. And exactly one Me. For those who don't enjoy the nefarious uber-brew, Starbucks has medium and blonde (light) roast blends that are also flavorful.
And while on the topic of coffee snobs, who in the name of Hecate finds prestige in this nebulous self-identification? There are five grades of coffee, in descending order: Cafe, Coffee, Java, Joe, and that stuff they serve at 12-step meetings and prisons that tastes like it ran off of Luthor's boot. From top rung to bottom, there ain't that much difference. It's like aficionados of microbreweries (beer snobs, God help us) who suffer from the delusion that beers are somehow like wine, and that this lowbrow excretion of yeast is somehow elevated from a working-class guzzle to a foppish sipping nectar. Coffee is something you drink to wake up, beer is something you swill while you watch sporting events, and there's nothing snobbish about either beverage.
But back to Starbucks. As coffee goes, it's good, and this location is pleasant, and the overly-groomed coffee snobs swaggering in and out will provide your daily dose of attitude. And oh yeah: KEURIG! The most popular breeds are...
Read moreNever ever have I been so disappointed in Starbucks before. On the 4th my husband went to the gym in the morning and I asked him if he could bring me home a venti caramel iced coffee with 2 sugars and cream in it. He did, I was thankful. I took one sip and it tasted like sour milk. I tried it one more time and definitely tasted sour milk. My husband and I have never been the kind to call and make voice of a mistake/issue but he called and talked to someone and they apologized over and over and said the next time you come through, whether it be the next day or next week, we will take care of it for you. Now, my husband didn't write down who he talked to but he still had the receipt. This morning on our way to my parents house we stopped by this location for coffee.(same location that my husband went to) We went in so we could tell them about the situation that happened a few days before. Benjamin was taking our order and we started to explain what had happened, and he was very rude and not wanting to help us. I was about to say forget it and I'll just pay for mine. He finally said he would take care of it. Next time I want a coffee I'll think twice about going back to that location. Or maybe even going...
