First time here and will be back! So this is in the old Kay’s ice cream building, if you’re coming from Henley, it’s easier to look for the cone than smaller sign underneath. Plenty of parking. There’s about 10 tables inside. Older interior but very clean. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Water is serve yourself, or bottled tea and soda. They also smartly kept serving some ice cream for those who have the habit. However I ran over after I saw them advertising shaved ice with yummy flavors including lychee, pandan, palm fruit, and others! It’s very refreshing after a spicy meal! We got an order of spring rolls, which were crisp and hot, not greasy. Served with duck sauce. Their Tom kha soup is good, heavy on the lemon grass and a little less tangy/acid than Taste of Thai if you’re used to theirs. A bit lighter as well which was actually nice. You can get your choice of meat or tofu. Decent sized bowl too. Hubby had drunken noodle which was both lightly sweet and savory with a good amount of veggies. I had red curry, which even if you request mild will have a little heat - enough to sniffle a tad, pleasant. Served with a good amount of rice, didn’t have to ask for extra. You can choose noodles instead. Again, both entrees were protein of your choice. Dessert was shaved ice, and you pick your toppings. They have...

I work at an Asian restaurant so I usually get my fix there, but occasionally venture out. The only place I have ever had authentic Thai food was at Taste of Thai before they closed.

Chicken Pad Thai: super good! I really like the noodles, they are smaller than I expected. Chicken is perfect. Less fish sauce (I think) than I expected to be used. Plenty of peanut crumbles and a lime on the side, thank you!

Tofu Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle): so good, these are great. Big wide noodles of course, tofu is fried perfectly. This also had a less intense flavor than expected, which worked really well for me. I ordered a step up from mild and it was not too hot at all - just a touch of heat. Veggies are soft, which is great. I don’t like underdone bell peppers!

Spring Rolls: good size, not oversized or hard to eat with your hands. Best I’ve ever had.

Small place but it’s clean and bright inside. Huge portions! Food was ready quicker than I expected, and the staff were friendly. I ordered for carry out and they have the big sturdy boxes, which I really appreciate. I will definitely be coming back hopefully...

Tried take out from this place on a whim, the wife was craving curry. Place is located conveniently right off the hwy in an old ice cream shop and is adorable, but divey and a bit hole-in-the-wall (in the best way), so maybe not a fancy date spot dine in locale for folx that care about such things. But the food is the star of the show here. Everything was ready right when I got there and I could tell it was a well loved family joint, very friendly, but in and out in 30 seconds. Food was still hot and fresh even after a 30 min car ride. I got the drunken noodles with extra fried egg, sweet and complex, and I swear they gave me extra chicken because it was fully loaded and the portions were huge. Wife got yellow curry which was deep and rich and got garlic sticky rice instead (highly recommend, adds an aromaticness and saltiness). This place is different from other Thai in the Knox/Sevier area in that it’s simple, generous, and tastes like it’s Mamaw’s cooking, if Mamaw was Thai. That makes it different from the more “cheffy”, swankier Thai...

I was thrilled to see that the folks who used to operate Jai Dee on UT campus have now opened this new restaurant in South Knoxville. They have trimmed their menu, no longer serve sushi, and have downsized most everything else also. However That doesn't change the quality of the food. The food might be a little different and more Thai but it's still as amazing as ever! If you get a chance to head down South Knoxville or want some great Thai food and don't mind driving, you should head over to Thai time and check this place out. We love this family and their recipes and think that this authentic Thai food will shock you. The flavors are so original and fresh that you'll be coming back time and time and thai time again lol

This was my first time trying this restaurant and the staff were SO friendly and helpful! The food was so good and they give you a large portion! I got crab ragoon and wonton soup and it was amazing! My kids each got fried rice and they loved it! We also got fried ice cream and cheesecake. It was $56 for our entrees (3 people) and about $20 for the desert, it was definitely worth it. The atmosphere is very cozy, it's a small place. We will be back for sure!
