I have never and might never otherwise write a review for a restaurant or anything else. La Cocina is hands down the most underrated restaurant I think I have ever come across. I worked as a cook for over a decade, so I am not unfamiliar with quality and talent. This food is sincerely so tasty that I always fill myself until I am busting at the seams. Haha.

The Fajitas are without exaggeration, by far the best I have ever had. The main part, meat/peppers/onions are indescribably amazing and so perfectly crisped and seasoned. The enchiladas and the green and red sauces are absolutely amazing as well.

And last but not least, they have to be the most cheery and genuinely just so nice people you can come across. They remembered me after the first time being there and always literally obviously excited for us to walk in the door. Just absolutely lovely souls and you would be missing out to not go try their incredible (and genuinely authentic) Mexican dishes and go experience the joy of being around them.

The restaurant is small and quaint and brightly colorful and heavily decorated in festive cultural items and paintings. We are lucky to have such a great little place in this little town.

And if you’re like me and timid to try new things, I swear to you, start with their fajitas. You will be blown away and confident to try...

Never before in my life I walked into a establishment and immediately I felt uncomfortable the waitress seem like he was rushing me and my wife to hurry and order every question I ask about the food it seem like he barely wanted to answer.. and the food don’t let me tell you no lie I ate at a lot of Mexican restaurant and this place was by far the worst ever… I had the Wednesday special today 7/9/2025 two tacos beans and rice two cups of water with lime they gave us one lime and didn’t want to give us more I can tell by the way the waitress looked he didn’t want to give it to us.. the tacos was dry and salty and the rice and beans made me feel sick my order came up to $29.09 and I didn’t leave a tip the owner got so mad to point he followed me and my wife outside the restaurant and began cursing us out and sticking his middle finger up at us calling us cheap N words because we are black islanders and we told him service was bad so we didn’t leave a tip we tip those who deserve it and who has good service I wish I recorded the way this man started acting professionalism went straight out the window kuztown need to shut them down because they are going to give the...

I just had dinner there yesterday about 5pm with my relatives who were visiting from Florida. I took them there because the last time I dined there, the service and food was excellent, but not yesterday. The waiter was very annoyed, impatient and reluctantly accommodating. The dining room was very cramped. The drinks were bottled soda plopped down on the table… no glasses, ice or straws. I had 2 elderly women with me who don’t drink from bottles. I went out to request straws, etc and stood there for a good 10 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me and it never happened so I sat back down to wait. He then gave us one glass with ice and 2 straws for 7 people and was he was very annoyed about it as well. I don’t know about you but I’m so tired of spending good money for poor service! The food was very good but once you receive treatment leave that, you don’t go back. It’s a real turn off. Very disappointing and embarrassing because I really pumped the place up to...

This place rocks. As a painfully white fellow who doesn't particularly enjoy spicy food, I did not find myself at all put out. Our host was very welcoming, making recommendations when we weren't sure what we'd like, and taking great care to ask how comfortable we were with spice. The food is really quite good. Their salsa is spicy, but full of flavor, one of the best I've had. I enjoyed the pork quesadilla, and was surprised to find that I thoroughly enjoyed their guacamole, despite not considering myself a fan of that food normally. My girl thoroughly enjoyed her enchiladas as well. Overall, I highly recommend this place. A little pricey (for a college town), but reasonable in the grand scheme of today's standards. Very authentic Mexican food, a real gem in a bastion of PA Dutch heritage.

Took my family here for dinner. My wife ordered the nachos and the chips were soggy and the dish was inedible. Looked amazing, taste and texture were disgusting. Tried to send it back to get something else and the guy said it wasn’t his problem. Last time I checked, a restaurant that makes something a customer doesn’t like usually makes something better to make them happy. Customer service is definitely zero stars but at least the burritos are good. Funny thing is, I didn’t leave a tip which would have been over $14.00 for the bill we got, the nachos were only $10.00. So his poor customer service saved me some money and lost him a future customer. Won’t be back solely because of the poor customer service we received. Had to pay for uneaten nachos but learned a valuable lesson.

The food was delicious, the portions were huge, and our waiter was very polite and very helpful! The inside of the restaurant was amazing! Many colorful and brilliant hand painted pieces of artwork was on display! I've never been to Mexico but I would imagine it to look a lot like the inside of the restaurant. It was a great meal with great ambiance.
