El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in La Cañada Flintridge

I was starving and really had an appetite for El Pollo Loco chicken tacos. I drove a ways to get to La Canada, as I live in Altadena. I ordered 2 ckn tacos w/ avocado on the side and 1 order of churros. When I got home, my order was missing the avocados. When I took a bite of the taco, the chicken was so hard, I couldn't chew it. I tried the other taco, thinking it might have tender chicken, but not so. Also, the churros had no sugar on them, only cinnamon. I drove back, with the intention to get a refund and was not happy about having to make this trip. However, an employee by the name of Cinthia assisted me and she didn't try to make excuses. She was very professional and made sure I was being taken care of. She asked if I wanted to get a replacement, but I wouldn't take the chance, after complaining. But she assured me that she would make the meal and I truly appreciate her efforts. She understood and felt bad for me. I have been going to this El Pollo Loco since it replaced the Goldsteins Bagels that was there years ago. The food has always been standard but the service used to be nothing special. People were rude, orders were messed up, and it didn't seem like anyone cared. In more recent months, I have found the overall efficiency and kindness of staff to go up and the experience has been better. However, today I was shocked at the service I received going through the drive thru. Raymond was kind and energetic. He was sure to be responsive and helpful, ensured he got everything right before continuing and was very kind in how he handled people.

I am not big on writing reviews or anything, but today's service put a smile on my face. If he is treating everyone like this, he deserves a promotion and a raise. Update! This location is still a one star and below. During today's lunch hour there was an obnoxious white guy at the drive thru. He was aggressive and just rude. After he messed up my order he told me he was on a "tight timeline" and told me to pull up to wait for my food. Of course the guy behind me received his food before me and started obnoxiously honking his horn while the guy in the drive thru put his body half way out the window to wave me forward. The entire experience was horrible. This location needs to hire better people to manage their drive thru. The drive thru has the longest wait times. Ordered taquitos with avocado salsa. The salsa was basically green water with no flavor. Didn't taste the salsa before pouring it all over my taquitos because I thought it was what I asked for. It was like drenching taquitos...
