A quiet Korean fried chicken restaurant with a few seats indoors and some patio seating, great place for takeout, but we dined in. There were only a few other patrons when we were eating there with most orders being carry out. I got the volcano sandwich which had crispy fried chicken with their volcano sauce (offering varying levels of spice) which had their coleslaw with spicy mayo, buttery buns, some pickles.
The buns were very pleasant with a light toast on the outside and soft on the inside and that first bite into the full sandwich was a nice explosion of flavor with all that crunchy business going on in my mouth, but as I was eating that thing I got to thinking about Carl's Jr's old slogan, "if it doesn't get all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face." I had mayo and volcano sauce all over my hands and plate, which wasn't a bad thing as their bathroom was clean and easy to wash my hands after my meal. Will definitely come back with my family next time. Thank you furai...
Read moreI think the food is "good," just shy of great.
I ordered the No. 11 - chicken tenders, which were basically the entire breast of the chicken. They were very big, very juicy. However, they weren't as crispy as the onion rings.
I ordered the spicy ranch and the kang Jung sauces. Unfortunately, the sauces were not the greatest. The spicy ranch was indeed spicy, but so spicy that it didn't taste of ranch at all, was just straight spicy. So it lacked any flavor other than hotness.
I didn't like the taste of the Kang Jung sauce. It was like sweet and a little spicy and kind of cinnamon-y. Truthfully, I didn't know what to expect of it, I was just trying a new thing so I have no frame of reference for the flavor profile of this sauce. Next time if I go, I'll try another sauce combo.
Overall, I think this place sits right at 3 stars. My meal was $21 for just the tenders and onion rings, which is a bit much for how the food...
Read moreMy mom and I were craving chicken and Furai Chicken was super close to where we were and decided to eat here. Very impressed with the tastiness of the chicken here!
We ordered the half of Soy Garlic Furai ($16.98) and half of Kang Jung Furai ($17.98). The Kang Jung looked spicy but it was not at all. The crispiness and quality of the chicken were so good, and the sauce was cherry on top. Both dish were served with a couple of largely sliced potato wedges. We also ordered a side of the pickled cucumber salad ($4.99) and it was disappointingly small— I’d skip this.
There were outdoor and indoor seats available. Lots of parking on a Sunday afternoon. The server was nice. However, the downside was that we were the only ones in the restaurant but food didn’t come out for at least 20 minutes.
Overall, this is the spot if you’re craving chicken, but just beware of wait times. Would come back to try out other chicken...
