Well, it's an OK sushi Ayce, I've had better. First of all, the place is on a smallish scale, too small to accommodate the sushi lovers on a weekend dinner night out comfortably.
They're fish/rice ratio is definitely smaller (even Chinese buffets gave you more, no lie) perhaps it was just 1 of those nights where the sushi chef decided he wanted to skimp on the guests that evening? I've read a few reviews saying the fish/rice ratio was good (probably lack of decent sushi ayce visited.)
They messed up a few of our orders and completely skipped some of the items on Rounds 1 and 2 but also duplicated 1 of the orders (would've costed us if we didn't finish) but we notified them of the mistake to obviously avoid getting forked.
The menu had decent selections of No-Rice sushi BUT it's all imitation crab meat in exchange for rice (I really wish they'd put that on the menu.) Clearly, you can see a quality sushi spot just by looking at the fish meats and while some looked good, a lot of them looked kinda dull and old too. Sadly I didn't take any photos, am not really 1 of those people who has to capture everything on photo/video before they ate it.
Will I go back to this spot? Probably not unless they make a few changes. We were kinda pressed for time and they seemed to have a decent review rating on here and they're a fairly short distance drive away is the...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, especially because of the AYCE options and the fact that it's conveniently close to my house. My husband and I ate here several times, particularly on weekday nights, and we wanted to make this our regular sushi spot. After tonight's experience, though, I think I've finally lost patience with the wait staff and their awful service. I'm not just some random privileged a-hole who likes to complain about the mundane. I've worked as a waitress for over a decade, so I'm familiar with the stress that can come with being a server. However, the times I've been here were unnecessarily chaotic because the wait staff appears to be poorly trained, disorganized, and very forgetful. I'm especially critical of this because I've had items missing from my order, and now that the price for a dinner AYCE is about $30 a person, it's no small matter to pay so much for a meal and receive such poor service. Food quality and portions are fine, but even that's not going to be enough to run a successful business. I hope they turn things around, but I'm not planning on coming back...
Read moreBy far my favorite AYCE sushi spot. It's a bit of a drive from LA but definitely worth it IMO. They don't stuff the sushi with hella rice like other places I've been to and the food is really good.
I came here for dinner once with my parents and had to make another visit a month later on my own because the food was just that good.
The service was also fantastic. Was a little sad to see they weren't as busy as I would expect/hope since I genuinely believe this place is a gem but I guess it kinda worked out for me because my food came out really quickly.
Honestly I feel like this restaurant is just 1 viral TikTok advertisement away from being blown up.
Seriously can't recommend this place enough, definitely give it a try if you're in the area/willing to make the drive. Saw plenty of people ordering non AYCE to go as well.
And if you made it this far down in my review and you're a videographer, would highly encourage you to consider helping this place make a video ad for social media. They deserve...
