Baskin-Robbins — Restaurant in La Mesa

I ordered an ice cream cake for my birthday. I was very specific on the phone. I asked if it was decorated with Whip cream or Butter cream because my family does not like the whip cream. She told me it would be frosted with butter cream. When i opened the cake at the party i found that all the icing was in whip cream. I called the store and was told someone would call me Monday. As my family does not like whip cream, we did not eat the cake. Tuesday, Michelle called me to tell me that the person who took the order was not correct and they only frost in whip cream. I told her i was very specific and wanted only Buttercream. Her attitude was very abrasive and she said that the person did not write that down and that they could give me a store credit for 50% of the cake. Had she just had a better attitude i would have said, no problem, mistakes are made. But she is rude and abrasive and I am done giving money to shops that don't know how to treat customers. My kids and i go to this store after music lessons every week, However, I will not be going to this store again. I will warn my friends not to go to this store ever. It's a Baskin Robbins, it's just as clean and tasty as a BR can be. What sets this one apart are the employees. I moved further east so don't pass by there anymore but still go out of my way to visit solely because the employees are so great. I feel terrible about this but I can't remember their names (wouldn't post them here anyways), but the two working on 12/6/24 at closing time are two of their best (don't get me wrong, they're all great) and have gone well above what I would expect of anyone helping me with my purchase. I really can't say enough about them, I don't know what their pay is but it's not enough. Both of them would make excellent managers in case anyone above them reads this. Because of my schedule I often am there right around closing time which would infuriate me to no end if I was working there. I've never felt unwelcome or even like I slightly annoyed them. Great staff and very helpful. Mother in law in the hospital did not believe us when we said they had butterfinger for their shakes so the manager gave me a small container and she picked our large butterfinger pieced to put in. I delivered the ice cream and started eating the pieces in front of my wife and her mom at the hospital. They asked what I was doing and I said:" Oh, nothing, Just eating large chunks of butterfinger I got from Baskin-Robbins. Want some?" A great experience overall.

If it were not for Baskin-Robbins giving their entire database to the US government to put people on the rolls for the draft for the Vietnam war, they'd get 5 stars. This kind of data sharing with the government can never be forgotten or forgiven because we know now other companies have also voluntarily shared private data which violates the public trust.
