I don’t usually write reviews unless it’s absolutely necessary, and in this case, it was definitely necessary! I did a google search for funnel cakes in the area and Landon’s Ice Cream shop came up. I then looked up the website and viewed the posted video from Fox 5 and thought I would like to try this place one day. Even though I wasn’t originally thinking about ice cream it looked really good! Then I sent the website to my daughter and told her to take a look and she said “oh I know Landon, I had a couple of classes with him!” So then I was really excited to try this place out to support them! When we arrived to the store today, we were not greeted at all! The girl at the register kept her back to us the entire time. She didn’t greet us or anything. We awkwardly waited for her to turn around and when she finally did, she spoke but then said “are you guys ready?” I said “I’ve never been here before and how does this work?” She was very dry and I felt lost. Didn’t recommend anything or tell me anything about the store or process. I didn’t know if this store was like Cold Stone where you can add toppings and things like that. I then asked about a flavor I saw on the website and she just shook her head no and then said “no.” I said “oh you don’t know what I’m talking about?” she said “no.” I’m like Ok…..then we ordered our ice cream and as I was paying for it I remembered I had a coupon for $2.50 off. I said with a smile “oh no! I forgot to use my coupon. Is it too late?” She just bluntly said “ yes it’s too late” and then continued to make our ice cream. HORRIBLE customer service. She turned her back again! Then I asked again and I said “so you wouldn’t be able to refund me $2.50?” She bluntly said “no”. If she was a little nicer with better customer service I would have just said ok I’ll use it the next time. I felt so uncomfortable purchasing from this place after the way we were treated from the moment we walked in, so I asked for a full refund. She gave me a refund with no receipt and walked away. Didn’t try to satisfy me at all. I said “can I have a receipt?“ She just walked back over the register and gave me a receipt after me asking for it. I will never be returning to this place again! Very bad customer service. I am always pleasant and friendly and l didn’t deserve this. We ended up going to Bruster’s Ice Cream where my money is...
Read moreMy family of five and I just left this establishment. I have heard nothing but good things about Landon's so we couldn't wait to try it. When we walked in there was no one else but my family. Four of us got the large which you could choose 2 different flavors. My son got the brownie sundae. Every flavor we tried was simply delicious. However the price does match the quantity. None of us received a scoop of ice cream. We receive a tablespoon of that of ice cream for both flavors. My son's brownie sundae consisted of a brownie, a teaspoon of vanilla ice cream and an abundance of whipped cream. To say we we're all disappointed, is an understatement. I would recommend others because their flavors are wonderful, service was okay, and the place is super cute, and cozy. Go, and make your own opinion. We might have come at a bad time, but we won't return. In response to the owner, if you were the man that I saw looking at the freezers when my family and I were there, it would have been nice for you to introduce yourself so that I knew you were the owner. I definitely would have spoken to you, and shown you what my family, and I received. There is never a need to lie on a business especially when I came to support a small black owned business. Also the young lady that served us seemed overwhelmed with the customers being as though my family of five was there, and while we waited three woman came in, and then another group of three. Maybe she felt the need to rush our order, and that's why the portion was exactly what I said a tablespoon for our ice cream, and a teaspoon for my son's brownie sundae. Also as I stated earlier your business was cute, and cozy, along with delicious ice cream. If you have the biggest scoops in the area than I would love to know what happened yesterday. Wow. “Let’s get to the facts, not the feelings”? That line alone says everything about how this business treats its customers. Yes — I was overcharged, and yes — it was refunded, but only after I had to point it out. My order was not complete, and one of the pints was less than full. Instead of listening or apologizing, the owner chose to post a defensive, condescending response that basically calls me a liar.
I didn’t exaggerate a thing — I shared my honest experience so others know what to expect. Great ice cream can’t make up for rude service and zero accountability. You’ll never see me back in your “tight ship.”
Our second visit and now our last. The ice cream is great. But the service is terrible. We visited Landon’s yesterday, we ordered the liberty kit and milkshake to go. I was over charged by $28 dollars, and the lady behind the counter acted like it was my fault she over charged, she finally had some come from the back, and issue me a refund. When my order was ready, I checked my bag to make sure everything was there. I was missing my waffle bowl and 2 toppings, I mentioned this to gentleman that gave me my order, I’m assuming he was really sure what Came with it, because I had to show him the menu description on my phone. He gave me the bowel and told be they were out of some of the toppings. Ok no big deal, just give me duplicates. When I got home there were only 4 containers of toppings when there should have been 5 and one of the pints were no where near...
