I recently dined at La Bracero, and have also ordered them online as well as via DoorDash , and overall, I would rate my experience at about 4 stars. There aren’t many good Mexican restaurants in La Porte, but I’d like to try them all out a few times before giving a solid review. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The staff was friendly and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience.
I ordered the Quesabirria tacos, which were quite tasty. The flavor of the meat was rich and satisfying, but I noticed that they don’t dip their tortilla shells in the sauce like many other places do. This was a bit disappointing since that extra step usually enhances the overall flavor and texture of the tacos. However, the tacos were still enjoyable, and I appreciated the generous portion size.
One area where La Bracero could improve is in their menu transparency. Whether dining in person or ordering online, I found that the descriptions of what comes with each dish were lacking. For example, it wasn’t clear what toppings were included on the tacos or what sides accompanied certain meals. This is especially concerning for those with food allergies, as knowing the specific ingredients is crucial. I believe that providing more detailed information about each item would greatly enhance the dining experience and ensure customer safety.
Overall, La Bracero offers a solid dining experience with delicious food, but a few adjustments in menu clarity and preparation methods could it to a five...
Read moreAlthough the food was good the staff on July 3 was rude. I normally enjoy this restaurant and have recommended it to several people however this experience makes me question if I’ll ever go back. On my previous visit my order was messed up and I didn’t realize it until I got home which is 25 mins away. I called right back in and talked to someone and they apologized and said they would replace my order. I explained that I was to far away and my sister who was with me and her order was incorrect was on her way back to Chicago. They said they would put my name on a list at the register so whenever I come in just let the waiter know and they would take care of it. When I went in on July 3, I explained everything to my waiter, gave him my name and ask him to check on it before I placed my order. I didn’t want to have problems when I went to pay. I guess he didn’t check and just came back and said everything was ok. They charged me for everything. The guy at register said he couldn’t do anything, ask to speak to a manager, none available, was told I should have check first, said I did. This was a mess. I don’t know if they felt that I was trying to keep from paying or what. They started talking in Spanish, one guy told me I didn’t have to come back to the restaurant, another young guy jump in and he was not involved at all. All this over 2 burritos. I have spent way more money there then the cost of 2 burritos. I think normally we drink that much. With all this said food is good but service and respect for their...
Read moreBooked a reservation in person for a birthday dinner for about 10 to 15 people a week in advance. Come day of reservation, the lady at the cashier said she knew nothing of a party and became extremely agitated and rude. At that point I knew we were going to have bad service. They had 2 servers staffed and they were extremely busy. It took a long time to get our food put in, but food was alright once it came out. The server told us that we could break up the check by item at the front once we were finished. We all went up to the front to pay, but since nothing on the check had a description of the item with price, we asked to see a menu again so we could see who got what and how much it cost. The lady became extremely agitated and rude again and told us to stop yelling at her, when we simply wanted to just see a menu. She told us she wasn't going to get us a menu. But finally she gave us a QR code to scan instead of just handing us a menu right in front her. We ended having one person pay for everything because we in fact couldn't split anything up. The attitude was extremely unnecessary. We took all the appropriate steps to make sure they were well aware of our party reservation. So when we show up and no one knows anything about it, don't get mad and rude with us when we get there. Maybe figure out where your line of communication got interrupted so this doesn't happen to...
