I recently visited Uno Pizzeria with high hopes of indulging in some delicious pizza and enjoying a pleasant dining experience. However, my visit was anything but satisfactory, largely due to the lackluster service provided by our server, Heavenly.
From the moment we were seated, it was clear that Heavenly was not interested in providing attentive or courteous service. She appeared disinterested and barely acknowledged our presence, opting to chat with other staff members rather than tend to our table. It took an eternity for her to even approach us to take our drink orders, and when she finally did, she seemed annoyed by our requests.
Throughout the meal, Heavenly was nowhere to be found when we needed her assistance. We had to flag down other servers multiple times just to get basic things like refills on our drinks or to request additional condiments. It was incredibly frustrating to be ignored and neglected in such a manner, especially considering the restaurant was not busy at the time.
Furthermore, when our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best. It was evident that it had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long, resulting in a soggy crust and lackluster flavor. Despite voicing our concerns to Heavenly, she simply shrugged and walked away without offering any solution or apology.
To add insult to injury, when it came time to settle the bill, Heavenly made several mistakes with our order, resulting in overcharging us for items we never received. It was clear that she was either incompetent or careless, neither of which is acceptable in a service industry.
Overall, my experience at Uno Pizzeria was extremely disappointing, largely due to the poor service provided by Heavenly. I would strongly advise against dining here if you value attentive service and quality food. Save yourself the frustration and seek out a restaurant where the staff actually cares about their...
Read moreSo full disclosure, this $28 pizza was comped due to being ordered at 1pm for 5pm pickup. It was made immediately and thrown away, then I had to wait an hour and come back to get it after I showed up and figured out what happened 35+ minutes later. The service was great, and the staff was very polite and clearly overwhelmed and struggling. I was fully prepared to love this pizza, and was looking forward to it after having enjoyed the Chicago spot for years.
Unfortunately the pizza was AWFUL. Possibly the worst pizza I've ever had. I love this style of pizza, but this was poorly executed. The tomatoes were mostly whole and were entirely unseasoned. It was like popping a can of whole plum tomatoes from the store and digging in with a spoon. There was soooo much of it. Then, there was almost no cheese. The cheese that was there was nearly solid, and no melty cheese at all. The crust was mostly underdone and the pepperoni was totally floppy and had no flavor. It just tasted like tomato pie. That being said, we couldn't even actually eat our "free" pizza.
I actually have a bigger complaint though. You have to enter through the hotel lobby. It smelled so horrific my wife couldn't even stand and wait while I tried to figure out the missing pizza issue which did take nearly 35 minutes. The smell was overwhelmingly mold, mildew, and just old nasty stank. I honestly feel like they need to check that place for sanitary reasons because of the proximity.
I will go try it again in a few weeks, maybe months, if it's still there literally only because the staff was so nice and all tried their hardest to help. The interior was pretty bland, so we'll stick to carryout and avoid the smell. I'll try the tavern style thin crust next time, but it's going to need a minute. The 2 stars are just for the staff, and I think Sue was the person that helped sort the pizza missing problem out. She...
Read moreThis is the second pizza we have had from your establishment here in La Porte- so in comparison the first pizza was really good and on point - Next a few weeks go by we ordered a pizza for pick up - where we ordered xtra - cheese - order taker repeated back our order - but did not add it to the ticket - next we ordered mushroom, garlic and sausage - maybe two mushrooms on the pizza - very little garlic and sausage. Finally the pizza was swimming in sauce very much more than normal. We have had deep dish from all over the states including Chicago. We are pleased to have UNOS in our town. Albeit when being that busy it would seem you hope you have the capacity / ovens to cook the 1 hour pizza to serve all patrons / next quality control - ensuring that what people order is making it on the pizza and finally hope that the restaurant is not running low on toppings and subverting or adding extra of another to cover it up. Paying 40 dollars for a pizza it should be on point for a welcomed new business to survive in this economy long time. With that, there are many more choices for pizza where they get it right. So after the last experience we will be backing off on the 40 dollar pizza - and heard from another patron today, they had the same experience - please shore up the deficiencies and stay consistent with toppings and order taking. We will give it awhile and might try again down the road - wish you much success - just thought you might need the...
