Normal portions, bland food, subpar service, high than normal prices for a small cafe. Or a very welcoming environment. The attention goes to all the older & local business. Gravy was watered down and lacked the flavor. Simple requests seemed to be bothersome to the waitress who also complained quite a bit.
The biscuits were very sour but were homemade. Quite possibly the worst food Iâve had in a long time. The gravy had lots of salt to make up for the lack in flavor caused by watering it down to yield it more. There was very little room to sit so if you plan on coming with more than 4 people you probably wonât have room to sit as only 1 table was free.
All in all, with the poor taste in food I would of gave 3 stars but the unwelcoming environment makes this a 1 star place. With such a big tourist area youâd think theyâd be more welcoming but if youâre not a local good luck getting service...
Read moreAfter reading all the great reviews my wife and I couldn't wait to stop in.. I am not sure now what all the hype is about. It is a very small restaurant. The coffee is basic at best. You have your choice of one type creamer and sweetener is either sugar or saccharin(pink), The food was bland. We are not smokers so our taste buds are not compromised and we dont use salt. We ordered a Denver omelette and half order of biscuits and gravy, two eggs and hashbrowns. The bacon was the only thing that had flavor. Service was not bad although the "here let me fill your coffee cup (after you have only taken a couple sips) dear" is kinda annoying. The dirty windows looked like they haven't been washed in months. The staff is friendly. Not our type of restaurant and probably...
Read moreI think its high time I put effort into this review. This is far more than 5 stars. This is La Porte's Family Kitchen. As a life long customer of 27 Years my community never feels like more of a community than it does when I'm inside your doors. Jess is a community maker, someone that just by showing up and giving it her all makes our small city feel like a large family. The amount of times the small space has lead to the best of people opening up their underfilled tables and enjoying a meal with their neighbors I can't count. We the citizens of La Porte, your customers, greatly appreciate all your team is to our community. I look forward to many more years and plates of Biscuits & Gravy. Thank you all for fostering an enviroment thats truly good...
