Royale with cheese — Restaurant in La Porte

We visited this restaurant as it had good ratings, but my experience was very different. They did not have their specialty BOB burger. Their drink machine only had 5 out of 9 options. We ordered onion rings and were told about 15 minutes later the fryer was not working. I received my burger about 10 minutes after my friends although we all ordered and the bill was paid by one person. I even heard the staff tell another customer they had run out of shrimp for one their burgers. So, overall it was very disappointing and would not recommend this restaurant.

Lastly, the owner of the restaurant questioned my review and whether I truly visited his restaurant. This is a little weird as he actually came and talked directly to us. So, I absolutely visited the LaPorte Royale with Cheese. I even told one of my friends who was with me I would be willing to give them another try. I felt like we just caught the restaurant having a bad day, but it was so bad that my friend said he would not return. Now that I have been questioned on whether I really visited Royale with Cheese in Laporte I will most likely not visit again. Also, the response by the owner gives the impression that my experience could not be true and acted as if it could not have been his restaurant. Hello y’all, don’t know anyone here, we are passing thought on business. We decided to stop as I am a big fan of pulp fiction.

It’s actually pretty cool little lunch spot. It is not lame, or cheesy.

Anyway, I noticed a massive chow hall size coffee percolator and got a cup as it had been a day. Y’all I knew this was a good spot by the coffee. They cooked the coffee with cinnamon sticks and it rocked! One is the best cups of coffee I ever had at a restaurant.

I got the patty Melt. It was the best patty melt I ever had. It was just amazing. They use Texas toast style bread. The meat and onions was on point.

My wife got the royale burger and it was one of the best burgers she ever had.

We didn’t get fries or onion rings so you’re on your own with that. The worker at the counter said the rings come from a bag but are pretty good.

I didn’t try any other sandwiches. It is worth the trip off the highway. I marked for next time I am in the area.

Man the only thing that would make it cooler? Juke box, pool table and cold beer, and a pot belly wood stove for heat! I bet there is nothing nice about indiana winters.

I have ordered twice and both times were take out. I am not rating the atmosphere because I did not go in and eat, nor did I have any interactions with staff. My review is solely based on the food and service provided. FIRST experience was 5 stars Terrific and hope this place thrives in La Porte. SECOND experience 4 stars, the food was good, however my Caprese salad did not have any feta cheese on it, and there might have been 6 slim leaves of lettuce smothered by craisins. And my Caprese Burger had tomatoes when I specifically asked to hold them. Like I said, the food was good and it should be noted I ordered the exact same meal each time to see if the first experience would be the same as the second, and it was not. Quickly adding I received 2 salad dressings with my 1st order, and only 1 on my second order.
