Taqueria Mi Esperanza — Restaurant in La Porte

WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE!! I know the women who took care of us could barely speak English but I mean seriously! That was such an AWFUL experience! I have been to many places where somebody could barely speak English and the service was excellent, but at this place man I swear its like they never trained her!! I only came here because I love their taco truck and I heard they opened up a restaurant so I was pretty excited. BUT of course I was wrong. First of all when I came in there was nobody to be found so I asked another customer is I should sit myself down and they said yes. Waited a little bit longer and was like okay well I guess I will grab a menu myself from the hostess bar. Then finally the women comes and asks what we would like to drink and then they brought us chips. The "salsa" taste like chili instead of salsa. It took forever to even get our drinks so I stopped eating my chips. My aunt was with me and we asked for the green hot sauce for her chips. They bring it in a tube instead of a bowl. Then we ask for a empty bowl. We get a bowl of the green sauce but instead of the green color and the one that smells that same as the green sauce we get something more yellowish and looks old. Finally the lady brings her an empty bowl. We finally order our food. We FINALLY get our drinks. We both ordered tea. It was so sour. I never had sour tea before and don't think I want to try it again. So we order a coke that's in a glass bottle to play it safe. Then the lady brings us a taco. Not our beef taco we ordered. It's pork. Turns out to be somebody else's food. We are ready to leave and walk out but once she said our food is about to come out we didn't have the heart to leave because it's money that would be coming out of their pocket. We have no silverware so we go behind their bar area where it looks like it would have silverware. Yup there it was so grab our own silverware. Finally we leave. Good food. Bad Service. I think I will stick to the taco truck because at least they are handing me my food instead...

Reasonably priced, great for outdoor dining, and absolutely delicious. We’ve only ordered a few things as it is so hard to try new things when our faves are so amazing. We moved from Pasadena to LaPorte in 2020 - and I’d given up on any decent Mexican food (or Tex-Mex, which this isn’t) until trying this place.* Be wary of hours because (I think) this is family owned and they got other things to do sometimes.

Is decent, the wait is average, the food is good, NO (side affects so far- 45 mins in) expect a construction worker area, which is good means that everyone there is there to eat and get out ASAP WITH NO BS. THEY DO ACCEPT AMERICAN EXPRESS!!! But there add .66 to the bill so you as the costumer end up paying their use of credit card reader... (THE WHOLE TAB!!! AMERICAN EXPRESS USERS EXPECT A 1.89 CENT ADDED TO YOUR BILL....) SO I WOULD RECOMMEND BRING CASH... NOT BY ANY MEANS A FAMILY PLACE.... BUT ASIDES THAT I WILL RATE 4 STARS DEPENDING ON SIDE...
