Taquerias Arandas — Restaurant in La Porte

We love the food here. We've been going for several years. We had barbacoa tacos. 8 tacos only meat.

My husband saved some for me because he got them earlier in the day and saved some for me for after work. I particularly always get the same because the meat is always perfect and tender. I have brittle teeth, so it's my ONLY go to for the tacos.

In an unfortunate event on 10/4 before we left on the 5th to see my son's Army graduation, I was enjoying my tacos after I came home from work. 2nd taco in, a huge crunch, and my tooth broke. When spitting it out it was my tooth and what I thought was bone.I called the restaurant and they simply took my information...but living so close, I wanted them to see that I thought was bone was a pebble/rock. I spoke to the manager there and another manager on their phone. They looked and inspected the rock, and I was told they checked everything and no way possible it was from their food. I explained that in the 2 minute drive, they couldn't have checked everything. I told them I didn't even know how to approach the situation. I wasn't even belittling their food because accidents happen. They were in the process of putting up holiday decor... The manager on the phone assured me of a phone call back on Monday 10/10. No call no nothing.

I told them I would not post this if they'd try to reconcile this someway. They assured me they did not want the owner knowing and would call me back. Still nothing. .so here's my review.

I dont know why, I keep giving this place a try. Sometimes I feel like maybe it was just a bad day for them n my past visits, because I remember long time ago they were actually good here n all aspects. Now only reason for me to go back n try again was the convenience of the drive thru, but its STILL not worth anything more, service at the drive thru is never welcoming. They should be grateful they have a job because of us customers. Not even a thank you back amd have a nice day, when I was handed my order. Like dammmm. Food was ehhhh, I ordered street tacos plate and fajita was dry, tasted old and not fresh. Luke warm not even hot, but of course, well over priced, smh. I went home with my order n did not receive all garnish for my plate and didn't get NO hot sauces. What mexican spot gives u an order without!!!? This is again, drive thru service that should be making sure yr order has been done correctly n everything is complete. Along with salsa being in the bag. I will stay with Casa Anita's, down the street, even though they have no drive thru. Its worth getting down off your car n going in for your order and they're always welcoming you with a smile and give great customer service n very polite.They even provide chips n salsa's (rojo n verde)for free with every order. The food is great there every time. Im more upset with myself this morning because I knew it has been trash here at Arandas for years now. NEVER GOING BACK. I THREW MY PLATE TO THE DOGS. Its sad that I have to travel to Houston Arandas to get the great back then...

Worse experience. I am never the type to leave reviews because I understand the service industry and that restaurants can have off nights but we ordered a DoorDash at 8:30pm it was three food items- one kid’s quesadilla, one enchilada meal and one large quesadilla and two drinks. It took till 10:15 to actually get the order and this is after waiting till 9:30 to go in and see why it was taking an hour. Then got completely ignored by the staff. The First Lady asked us what we needed after 10 minutes then when I told her we ordered a DoorDash and gave her my name she looked at me crazy, walked to the computer and didn’t say anything to us until she handed us our food about 35 minutes later. Then when we told her there was two drinks she walked to get them and started talking to a customer about their order and never brought us our drinks. We had to ask someone else to and we finally got them. The kicker is that when we got home and unsealed our bag that they completely forgot my daughters kids meal.
