If I didn’t have to select a star I would of gave this art studio 0 stars. My husband & I came down from Houston for the weekend to celebrate my birthday here in Kemah & I wanted to get matching tattoos so I googled tattoo shops with good reviews & found this one. We went into the shop around 4pm & there was a female tattoo artist that was there to assist us. We told here we wanted to get tattooed & she mentioned she had a client at 5pm. So she asked what we wanted to get, I stated an initial and heart on our ring finger. So she again stated she had a client at 5pm & wouldn’t be able to tattoo us. How long would it have took to tattoo 2 hearts & 2 initials on 2 finger, maybe 30mins. Once we left, my husband & I got the impression that she didn’t want to tattoo us “black” people. That there told us we need to stay in our own city to support the community so the tattoo shops deserves 0...

Great experience from scheduling the consultation to the very last session! Lisa was fantastic at scheduling me with someone who could meet the needs of what I was wanting in an artist and following up after the consultation. The building was amazing, very calm, clean and loved the private rooms. Christian did a (third time) cover up for me and helped me come up with the perfect piece of art for me. I was back and forth on what I wanted and nervous about the pain, he was extremely patient and offered his thoughts while incorporating my wants and was very in tune with when it was time for my to “tap out” with each session. The Weathered Helm is a studio of top quality. If your looking for a deal on a tattoo you should expect to get what you pay for because there are plenty of tattoo shops in the area who dont give a damn bout you but tattoos are your companions for life. Weathered Helm is commited to the quality and the story. As a customer at many shops in the area I know how often an artist puts their own agenda above what your trying to ask for.
