It breaks my heart to leave this review. I love Chick-fil-A and I love that this restaurant in particular is black owned. I have always traveled (without complaint because it was worth it) to the Grossmont Chick-Fil-A. So having one in my backyard was exciting...
This store often has issues with slowing down and quality control. Often the nuts to my kale salad are missing or my sandwich came on regular bread. 2 days ago I had the opportunity to speak directly to the owner when I was complaining about the amount of kale salad. My container looked only 2/3rds full but Amber (owner) took the time to explain and show me how the look is deceptive based various factors and actually I had more kale than I was supposed to have. I was grateful that the owner had come out and taken time with her customers. When I went back to my car I realized they had forgotten my gluten free bun. I went in hoping to speak with Amber so I could share my concerns about quality control and get another bun. I wanted to spare the restaurant the negative review. But I decided to take my gluten free bun and go on with my day. As we pulled onto the onramp and I began making my sandwich (i saw tomatoes on the sandwich which I ordered no tomatoes.) We turned around and I went back into the restaurant to have my sandwich remade. I then asked to speak to Amber. However she was unavailable and so Monica, the executive manager, came and heard me out. She listened to my frustrations and then gave me a courtesy card and my new sandwich. I then got back into the car and we headed onto our destination. DejaVu. Opened my sandwich and there sat tomatoes. I went back. Monica met me at the door. She gave me another courtesy card and profusely apologized. They would work on the situation.
Fast forward to today. I ordered a simple #1 with no pickles. I had them prepare my order although I was nearly 20 minutes away. This store can be a bit slower and I wanted to give them time. When we arrived we were on a mission (my daughter had a hair appointment and we adopted families who need their gifts...) My daughter goes in and gets her meal. We are on our way. She stops me and shows me... she got two chicken sandwiches, no fries. I am so frustrated. My time is slim. I go in and share with Jasmine. She tells me to give her the sandwiches back. I tell her no... "Just give me my fries. You messed this up... the least you can do is let me keep the sandwiches." She said she would not be able to let me keep the sandwiches but would give me a compliment sandwich card that has to be used by December 31st. (That would make 3 btw). I said fine. She then takes order from me and RESTARTS THE ORDER. No... I don't have time for that. My daughter is going to get her hair braided she needs her food and we need to go. Jasmine won't hear me. I ask for Monica. I am told Monica is unavailable. I wait what seems like 3-4 more minutes and decide to ask for a refund. Jasmine then tells me... so if you get a refund you will not get your courtesy sandwich!!!! WTH. First off... I hadn't even asked for it at that moment... I wasn't worried about that a sandwich. I was more concerned with getting my daughter to her appointment and her getting dinner. So to add that salt to the wound more than irritated me. I told her... I am going to write a review. She said fine. And so here I am. The saddest part is my daughter was upset because as I dropped her off she still hadn't eaten. I will figure this out but am I disappointed beyond words. Being heard is #1. Someone seeing that I paid for a service and ended up getting the very short end of the stick. I didn't want to write a review. But kudos have to be earned otherwise reviews just become watered down. I will update, possibly delete if I hear from Amber and/or Monica regarding...
Read moreI went threw the drive-threw, came in contact with 3 employees and a store manager and still didn't get my order taken. We pulled up to the drive threw by 9:20 pm or so to two girls to take orders with tablets. I went to the line to the right that had one car ahead while the line to our right had 2 the line to the left was moved within 7 or so minutes. Our line didn't budge. I jokingly told my passenger they must be ordering the whole store. We wait so long the girl from the left lane tried to take our order but she said there tablets couldn't show us the menu so she asked us to wait for the girl in front of us. We then realized ed they were not talking about food anymore and were holding us up to speak To eachother. We backed out to go around them and get our order taken at the pay window. As we begin to drive forward now on the left lane he begins to yell profanities at us and body shaming my passenger. We then told the girls we would report her. We then wait for the. Ar in front of us to get his order taken as the man who was still taking to the right lane order girl passes by us cursing us out again and cuts in front of the gentleman in front of us blocking the entire line now to curse at us. The line gets halted until he leaves we make it to the window with a male worker telling us to speak to the store manager at the window so she could take our order. So we pull up to the window by about 10 pm and inform her of the issue that took place and about the ordeal and she said she was going to review the footage and handle the female employee accordingly. She said to pull up to the front and someone would take our order up front with a menu. A male employee came out and forgot a menu so he ran back inside. Then a female employee ran out the food to the car who was in front of us in the left lane and asked if we were waiting for something we said a menu and our order to be taken. My passenger had a stroke so she needs a menu. We wait at least 5 more minute and decide to now leave. A different male employee then runs out and asks us to wait 2 seconds. So we wait and he runs out with 4 gift cards and apologized for the situation. It was a big problem lemon and I felt it could have been handled differently and they should have came to check sooner why the line was so backed up. The one female employee who decided to take time from the company to have a personal conversation with a customer cost the company not only company time but also overtime pay since they are supposed to close at 10 pm. This location should and...
Read moreI have worked costumer service and management for all my life. This location Does not deserve even one star. We live in the neighborhood, and was excited to have a Chic Fil A close by. However to our disappointment this location needs a new training manager to come in and retrain these employees. The food is always undercooked, soggy, and horribly assembled. They never get our order right and we’re always missing food we ordered. Not just the fries, but the sandwiches, salads , shakes, and anything else you might order too. We shed mercy on them since they opened last year, and kept giving them one more try , over and over again, thinking things would improve, but they haven’t at all ! We are completely done with this location and will never go back. The employees are not welcoming and do not give you that Chic fil A welcome , and costumer service you would receive from the Santee or La Mesa Location. You will find the employee filled with attitude and not happy. The employees also talk off to the side hanging out ignoring the costumers. Very rude!!!! For how expensive Chic Fil A is we expect good quality food, an accurate order with nothing missing . We also expect a smile, and a good attitude with great costumer. We do not mind waiting a bit for good well made food. However the food we receive looks like it was tossed together in a life or death type moment. As if they threw it in the bag and tossed it around for an hour before giving it to the costumers. We have waisted our hard earned money and time at this location. All the employees need to be retrained! They need to fire the employees that simply refuse to give good costumer service. Personally I do not even know how they were hired, let alone why these employees have not been retained or fired. We normally go to the Santee or La Mesa locations and they are always serving up excellent food with excellent costumer service. That’s where we will continue to go when we are...
