Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in La Quinta

Decided to stay in for NYE and the wife wanted Applebee's so we decided to splurge. We went to the Applebee's website and placed an order for delivery since they advertise they deliver. Applebee's website says delivery in 45 minutes. At 1 hour we get a call from Applebee's saying that "they called out our order when it was ready but no one was there to pick it up". Our food is still there waiting to be picked up. Evidently they choose who delivers (in this case it was Doordash). We couldn't choose from Applebee's website. Outstanding. I tell "Anna with an attitude" to cancel the order and refund our money. On no, they can't do that! We have to call Doordash. The best she can do is make us fresh food so we can come pick it up. Yeah right! Currently my wife is on the phone with Applebee's manager trying to get our money back since they are the primary merchant. We're hungry, we're angry and we are tired of the hoops we have to jump through to get our money refunded! 30 minutes on the phone so far and finally Gerry the manager refunds our credit card. Folks.. when Applebee's advertises that they deliver, take it from us they don't. Furthermore, they have handled this whole situation very poorly. Anna had this "tough luck not my job attitude" that was absolutely uncalled for. We will NEVER visit an Applebee's EVER in our life. Happy...

Visited there mid day with my sister. We were quite tired after shopping and just wanted a quiet place to sit, eat and talk at. The restaurant was very busy and we sat ourselves. We were hard pressed to get service. Although the decor was what we consider to be traditional throughout the chain, the sound seemed to bounce throughout the room. Televisions competed with absurdly loud music and a plethora of very noisy children running around the restaurant. No small wonder the wait staff were so distracted. We were preparing to leave when we were approached by wait staff. We had decided to forego coctails as the atmosphere wasn't really conducive to a lingering luncheon, but opted for a soda with lime. Our drinks came 10 minutes later without the limes. Back she went and returned with 2 limes on a napkin and left before we could order. 20 minutes later we flagged down service and ordered 2 cups of french onion soup as a quick escape meal 20 minutes later we received our order. Soup was substandard. 20 minutes later we flagged down service to get our check. We discovered we were charged for 2 bowls instead of cups. Since we were already outside and loathe to return...

Worst service ever! We didn't even know who our server was because there were multiple people coming to our table. Not one of them let us get a full sentence out before they ran off and even the manager couldn't be bothered. There was one lady who rushed with customers but had no problem finding the time to talk with her friends for the near hour that we we're stuck in there. The only good thing: I ordered the whiskey bacon burger and it was brought out 10 minutes before my husband's food. On top of it getting cold during the wait, it was the most disgusting thing I have ever had before! After 20 minutes we finally managed to flag someone down and I was able to order something different without a problem. I felt like our whole family dinner time was ruined because none of the servers would let us fully speak before rushing off so we had to sit there and flag down someone else to get some ranch or ketchup or whatever.
