The patient admitting specialists that were scheduled yesterday 10/22/2024 were just completely disrespectful. Yesterday I took my mom in at around 5pm. The lobby was empty, we were the only ones present. We were already being checked in by the P.A.S. who was sitting at the hot seat, she was an older white woman with long white hair. About ten minutes later an older Hispanic gentleman walked in. He did not speak English. The Caucasian P.A.S asked HIM if he was with us. She still hasnât finished checking my mom in, when she was already talking to the man across the room and trying to find out what the man was there for. Meanwhile, the two other patient admitting specialists sat in the corner and watched. They were unwilling to help the man and seeing as there was a language barrier for him, I decided to translate and ask him in Spanish what he needed. One of the P.A.S. who was at the corner wearing a face mask with long dark hair, interrupted me while I was speaking to the gentleman and she yelled from across the room, âQUIERES VER UN DOCTOR SI O NOâ âŚ.meaning âDo you want to see a doctor yes or noâ
As a patient service representative MYSELF, I know there is absolutely no facility where we are allowed to talk to patients like that. It looks really unprofessional, and it could also be a violation HIPPA since the man had to shout back from across the room stating that he was there due to stomach pain, he said he hadnât been able to get up in days and he hasnât been eating. The Hispanic patient admitting specialist, then said âok if you want to see a doctor then come hereâ she did a hand gesture signaling for him to go up to the reception where she wasâŚ. That isnât okay either, being the first point of contact means thereâs a huge responsibility on them to be respectful, have manners, and use proper communication skills. Youâre supposed to say.. âokay sir I can help you here at receptionâ instead of âif you want to see a doctor, then come hereâ I didnât get her name since she was far from me but I did hear the tone she used throughout the entire interaction and my heart broke for him. No one should be treated like this and specially not from the people in our very own community.
We were finally escorted to a room by an LVN. I didnât get her name either but she was quite rude as well. First she came in speaking English so the whole time I was translating to my mom, when she was finally done doing intake and updating the medical chart she said in fluent spanish, âthe doctor will be right with youâ
NP named Kathleen came in and did an exam on my mom. She seemed nice I even thanked her for her patience. Kathleen referred my mom to the E.R. Since it was our first time at this clinic, my mom wanted to ask Kathleen if she could at least prescribe something for the symptoms. I wasnât even able to finish the question when Kathleen interrupted me and raised her voice saying, and I quote, âNOPE. NOPE. NOPE. I wonât do itâ I told her not to talk to us like that and that I donât appreciate her saying nope nope nope when she could have just said no once. I know the epic system tells you when the patient is either new or established. So if Kathleen saw my mom was a new patient then why didnât she just let us ask our questions without her being rude ?
When Kathleen left, the LVN came back in and this time she was reading things in English to me then reading them back in Spanish to my mom. Then she handed me the Against medical advice form, she told me what the form was for. She was silent, I waited for her to tell my mom about the form. She didnât. So I decided to translate to my mom. Half way through my translation, the LVN loudly interrupted me and said in Spanish âitâs just stating youâre not going to the hospital like you were told toâ I looked at her gave her a blank stare and said , âas I was saying MOM, this form is forâŚ..â the LVN was taken back and just said âohâ I read the policies on Ike Net several times when I worked there and I know this behavior is not allowed, so I hope...
Read moreI was at urgent care last night, at Bermuda Dunes. Nice, confrotable, clean place, when you first walk in.First I was registered by the receptionist. Asking all pertinent questions for registration, she ask me have a sit. I waited for a cup of minutes, when I heard my name, I gat up to see who was calling me, then I see this lady behind the desk and automatically I sat in front of her, since she was sitting on the other side. She started to ask my symptoms, after a set of questions, she told to go back to my sit, and wait to be called. Before I left her area, I asked her if she was a nurse, she stated yes. So unpolite, She never introduced her self. Certainly Eisenhower, does not need people like that. What happen to the office manager?. đ¤ She's not the only one with that attitude. I been there other times. And there is a beautiful blond hair lady, who to me is the only one person to deserved to have a job there. So hard to get a job now this days, and people have this attitude, but any way , moving on with my main complaint, after the nurse showed me to my room. Dr or P.A. came in and asked my symptoms he told me, nurse will check me for covid and flu, nurse had done it already. Dr left, he was in my room probably about 60 seconds, he left. And after I waited for a while, nurse cames in and handed to me my discharge paperwork, then I asked is the Dr coming to talk to me. She said no, results in paperwork, then she asked exit the back door, we are close now. I really felt like, was wrong with me? What's the diagnosis?. thats my very disappointing experience of such a beautiful place.I know people choose a profession based on there feelings. Same people are here just for the...
Read moreAVOID! The first time I went to this urgent care, I went in for chest pain, so they gave me an EKG and told me that I needed to take an ambulance to the main hospital "right away!" I called my Son instead, who then drove me to the hospital for more tests. At the main Eisenhower hospital ER doctor looked at me after the tests and said, "I don't know why urgent care sent you here... You have the heart of an athlete." I know why Eisenhower Urgent Care in LQ lied and made me panic into getting more tests at the main hospital. Money. (I was billed for, and had to pay a couple thousand in unnecessary medical bills.) This last time I went to Eisenhower LQ urgent care, the attending doctor told me I needed a catheter, and I needed to carry around a urine bag just LIKE HE DOES due to urinary problems. So, again I went for further testing, and the doctor told me there was no need whatsoever for a catheter set-up. It was a simple case of heat stress crystallizing uric acid in my system due to our intense weather. The LQ Eisenhower Urgent Care is like Ruth's Chris Steak House. They will make you fearful and try to up-sell you in order to make money. The nurse was rude and cut me off when I tried to speak, the doctor also just talked over me when I attempted to explain what was going on, and generally speaking, this staff was not in any way interested in listening to the patient. They simply made decisions based on their assumed superior knowledge without bothering to open the book to read a few pages. AVOID! You can't give a no-stars rating on Google, or that is the rating I would apply to the La Quinta Eisenhower Urgent...
