KFC — Restaurant in Lacey

Made a trip to KFC for a quick meal because I’m seriously tired of cooking every single meal for the past YEAR at home. We were really just craving some junk food so we caved and decided on fried chicken... and I now totally regret it.

When we got the giant bag home and started pulling things out, the paper bag with gravy in it had been leaking and the bottom of the bag broke open over the whole bag, the gravy container just dropped straight through the bottom of the paper bag! And splattered all over our counter, my favorite brand new cream colored sweater, and all over my floor!

As we were trying to clean up we saw it had leaked through the paper bag and all over and into the chicken bucket, the box containing our chicken strips and the box of biscuits (we have a big family and wanted left overs, so we ordered large sizes of everything, this was COPIOUS amounts of gravy).

I tried to call them to see how we could fix it because no one wanted soggy gravy coated chicken, but the phone number from the receipt doesn’t even ring. So I had to drive back over. Before I did so I took pictures of everything, but was not about to bring that mess back into my brand new (to me) car.

I had to go through the drive through because their lobby was closed and try to explain what happened. Whoever was working the window was super, super upset over the whole thing and was angry that I hadn’t brought the whole mess back with me. I tried to explain to her that I had photos I could show her, but she didn’t want to see them and told me angrily they would “just have to deal with it and replace the chicken I guess” and proceeded to practically shout at me to pull up to the window.

Not once did anyone bother to apologize for the mess or even the inconvenience of having to drive back to the store. I certainly am not one of those people that thinks essential workers are scum, or need to treat me like they’re serfs, but this was actually a legitimately awful experience at their store because they didn’t seal the gravy. At any point from answering their phone to when I pulled up they could have been kinder about the whole thing and I wouldn’t be leaving this review. I wasn’t angry when I got there, but I definitely was when I left. Especially since I got home and found out they replaced my biscuits with burned ones... In more...

Chicken strips the size of my literal finger i took pictures because i was so appalled charged for a 5 piece at $15.99......I kid you not.......ordered 5 got only 4 of the most emaciated looking chicken strip meal. When I called to complain and ask if we were being pranked I got told that's the size of all their chicken strips(straight lies we normally go over to the one on Martin and Galaxy and they are quadruple the size but get so slammed they run out of product this time of night(9:30pm) so we thought we would try a different one)......When I asked to leave my name to come get a refund......America the csr I was talking to on the phone tried to insulate if I didn't come right now I wouldn't be getting a refund. I asked if this was a local store policy or cooperate one because I'd like to enjoy my dinner while it was hot and not waste extra gas. After she "checked" with her manager said since she was on in the morning I could come get the refund for the chicken strip meal in the morning. I do have pictures of the laughable excuse for chicken strips we were given just no where to post them on Google review.

I didnt think it could get worse, and then I opened my 3 piece dark meat original recipe meal........facepalm the chicken leg is the size of my finger as well(yes took a picture). I'm not making another call to the store when they didnt want to answer the first one tonight I'll show them the ridiculous size of the chicken wing sized chicken leg when I go to get refunded for the other meal.

Utter failure my husband and I are going hungry tonight we were that put off...

Have been a fan of KFC since I was a kid. It was always a special treat to get one of their meals for dinner when my folks would go out.

KFC has been a consistent companion everywhere I have lived - which is a lot of places.

Went through the drive thru for our order, which went smoothly. The gentleman was very polite and did a great job.

The line in front of us went quickly and our order was ready when we got up to the window.

I believe it was the same person giving us our food as who took our order. Again, he was very polite.

I could see other staff and parts of the kitchen through the window. It was nice to see such a clean kitchen area and a well-functioning crew. It is always appreciated when I see that as it provides a much higher level of confidence in the food being good.

We ordered the three-piece chicken meals with all white meat all with the Colonel's Original Recipe. I ordered mine with fries and my wife had hers with their coleslaw - a favorite of hers.

Food was still warm when we arrived home and it was delicious. Neither of us could finish all of the chicken so we got to have it the next day as lunch.

Will definitely continue to go there.
