Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Lacey

Just went to Sonic with my cousin. I haven't been to Sonic in some time. Last time I went I remember my food being meh. But the cold slushes sounded good after grocery shopping on a hot day. We sat in the drive up spot for ten minutes before someone answered to take our order. The girl was short and not super nice, but honestly the place was freakin packed so it was understandable that we had to wait. I ordered a side that they then said they were out of so I ended up ordering the chili cheese fries and my cousin ordered a double bacon cheeseburger. She got a frozen strawberry lemonade and I got a watermelon limeade. We waited for about 20 more minutes before our food was brought out. They screwed up our drink order and they had to go back and remake it. The girl who brought our food was very apologetic though and brought her a giant drink to compensate for the mix/up and wait which was very nice. My cousins fries were cold, and my chili cheese fries were shriveled up and cold and the chili left a gross taste in my mouth. When my cousin bit into her double bacon cheeseburger, there was no bacon on it! And my limeade wasn't filled to the top. So basically the wait wasn't worth the food. The only thing I think that saves Sonic is their drinks and icecream. I'm Sure the employees were scrambling because they were absolutely packed, I think that Sonic's set up is bad. All in all, would not recommend. Only for the huge assortments of drinks/ice cream. Even then, waiting for over 30 mins isn't worth it. Go next door to Wendy's...

I stopped coming to this drive in at first because of how much they have taken off of the menu. Family size tots. A HUGE variety of slushies. Now it's just a basic fast food place. Well decided to give it another try, my son really wanted a slushy this day so figured fine let's grab one from Sonic. Got there to the stales to order, 4 or so other cars in stalls ordered and eating. We go to order and they tell us "sorry we're not doing stall orders anymore today" mine you it was around 2pm.... We thought okay whatever let's just go through the drive through but still eat in a stall because it's shaded. Got to the mic to order and we get a number 11 that states it comes with BOTH tots and onion rings. Toasted buttered bread and chicken tenders. We order it and go to order our drink and they say we aren't able to make carbonated drinks today. What?! Lol At least give us a warning on what you can and can't do right now this is very frustrating.... We get our order finished finally and we get our number 11. We ordered a large. We basically got a small. Came with the smallest amount of tots NO ONION RINGS and UNBUTTERED toast. Tenders were burnt. Tots were gross. (Suppose to be the best part) were just never going here again. I don't recommend. Never will again unless they change owners maybe because the people they be hiring are ridiculous. I'd rather drive all the way to Texas for their sonic than ever try this...

This... Is a hard one to review. Let's just say... In my opinion, the place is struggling. I love Sonic's... Always have. The foods always good and the atmosphere is retro and enjoyable. But now, the prices are sky high due to everyone being forced to pay high schoolers $100k per year and offer them a golden parachute. The insanity is destroying the industry. Sonic is down to a couple employees, foods still good but about as expensive as it can get prior to needing to just close the doors. There is no longer any drive up dining. No staff to keep it functioning .Only the drive through now. It's not just sonic, I'm seeing thing like ice machines failing at other places, but they can't afford to fix them... There's more... But... The days of hiring kids who live under the parents roofs and really have few real life expenses are over. Kudos to Sonic for trying to keep the patient alive. I'd personally give them 5 stars for that. But alas, the review app is specific... I'm honest on food at 4 stars. Half of their functionality (service) is shut down so 3 stars... Their main attraction (atmosphere) is gone... 2 stars....

I don't mean to add insult to injury... But it is what it is, and there is little an owner can do when the state says... You gotta pay children adult...
