A bit underwhelmed for the price.
I went here on Valentines Day as a date with me and my boyfriend to support a local business. I read the reviews before coming here, which were very promising.
I am not opposed to paying $20+ for one entree, if the food is good and has fair portions however I do not think what I paid was the equivalent of what I got.
My carne asada was very bland, little to no seasoning and the last strip I got was all fat and inedible. I ordered to go, and was disappointed when I got home. I would prefer going to an authentic locally owned business over a food chain like the Mayan, but I cannot say I will be coming back.
Service was fast, we ordered and got our food within a 20 minute wait. I noticed customers were rarely checked on though, and can agree that waiters are inattentive. When we came into the building I could see from the outside that someone had left and finished their meal, but cups and other silverware had not been picked up meaning the tables had also not been cleaned. The entire time we were there this table was passed by and not cleaned..
The tacos I ordered for my mom were not "authentic" tasting. Meat was bland and overcooked... I felt very bad for ordering this for her on Valentines Day to say the least. Did not come with traditional sides like radish and lime either. I paid $50 for two entrees and a side of tacos (which was the special for the day).
I gave it two stars because the lady helping me was patient and kind. I wish the food tasted as good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe neat thing about Mi Pueblo is the various dishes they offer that you don't find at the other Mexican joints. I haven't tried any of them yet, but it's cool that someone in Lacey thought to go beyond the various chicken/steak/pork Mexican dishes covered in sauce and greasy cheese. Another thing we like about Mi Pueblo is the quick service. Our server has always been attentive and friendly, even offering suggestions or reasons for choosing one dish over another. I don't often find myself at a crossroads in life when it comes to ordering from a Mexican restaurant, but it's good to know that at Mi Pueblo I'll get more advice than to order the more expensive of the two items I am debating. The iced tea really isn't that good, so I don't like to order it anymore. They used to have one of those loyalty programs that you signed in with, but I haven't seen it the last few times we went in. Updated 10/6/2022: the quality has gone down. I ordered crispy tacos, #26 on the menu. The shells were chewy and tasted stale. When I mentioned this to our server, she told me the chefs are supposed to change the shells every three days, so maybe they didn't so she'll check with them and thanked me for telling her. She came back with our bill for dinner and never said a word about the tacos. Our last visit was in March of 2022,so they probably won't miss our business, but we don't plan to return. I left the rest of the review because that's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a fan of Mi Pueblo for years. It has been the only Mexican restaurant I've eaten in...and I drive all the way from Shelton to dine there. But this time was incredibly disappointing and unacceptable!! I dined there last night an ordered a chicken taco salad. The shell was only half filled with lettuce and, supposedly chicken. Where was the chicken? I called the waitress over and said there's no chicken in here. I poked around the shell with my fork...and there was one little piece of shredded chicken. She said that's how they make them and if I wanted more chicken it would be an additional charge of $3.50!! So in total I was charged $17.50 for a half filled taco shell, had to pay extra for the chicken that was supposed to be in it...and there was no guacamole included. I've always told people this was the best Mexican food in Olympia. I had written positive reviews on Yelp. No more! If you can't do right by your customers, you're not going to get my business. And I'll tell everyone about...
