I never write reviews, but felt the need to write one for my poor experience. I’ve heard BJ’s brought back 25% off Mondays, so I looked at the website the day before to see how much a 12” pepperoni pizza costs to see how much it would be on Monday. Well I looked online on Monday again and it shows the same price. Placed my order over the phone, no price was given to me, went to pick up my pizza, paid for it and left.
Well, when I got home I looked at the receipt and saw that I wasn’t given the 25% off. I called and talked to the manager, and she was rude frankly and argued with me and told me I had gotten the 25% off and there were 2 websites. I told her I’ve never heard of a business having 2 websites before. She said the previous owners haven’t taken down the old website. Why the previous owners would continue to pay for a website doesn’t make sense. I just clicked on the first website that came up for BJ’s, which was the one on West Congress St in Lafayette and used that one. I asked her to text me the correct website and she said it’s not loading. I then told her I saw the same price on Sunday and Monday, and she snapped at me and said the price was higher on Sunday. Very non-productive. I saw it was futile to talk to her and said okay.
It’s so sad how the manager would rather keep the $3.14 difference and not respect what’s show explicitly online, and lose a customer. If there is a discrepancy with websites, write a disclaimer. My receipt definitely did not indicate any kind of discount, in more ways than one. The profit margin of pizza is high. It’s 95% bread. One of my close friends owns a pizza restaurant, and said BJ’s is using cheaper cheese and ingredients now to increase their profit margin, which is why you see complaints of the taste online. It’s so sad that the manager is causing the owners to lose business, but it’s not my business so not my problem. There’s plenty of other pizza places to eat in Lafayette which are transparent with their prices and use quality ingredients.
Honestly, it’s not like I couldn’t afford paying $3.14 more, but have some honesty, integrity and transparency. Maybe other people wouldn’t care but I’m not here to give out my money for free....
Read moreI've been patronizing this restaurant for years. Decades, to be specific. I will always have a place in my heart for it, not only from the Nostalgia of my younger years, but how much it did to take care of my family when my sister-in-law's father was killed during a delivery.
That said, I am not impressed yet with the new owners. People need to be trained a bit better over there. It's bad enough when all delivery orders are now being funneled through a cold website. But, when said website tells that my home, which has been within delivery range since the place opened (I've ordered my grandparents', six blocks away), I get understandably annoyed. Yet, when I called to ask if this was correct, the staffer HAD NO IDEA. Worse, she did not make even the pretense of acting apologetic, or willingness to find out, or interest in my business.
I went to contact management via Facebook, but when looking for BJ's Pizza and Deli on Facebook, or even BJ's Pizza and Deli Lafayette LA, the place doesn't appear at all.
To their credit, someone apparently did just try to call me in the intervening time, but by then, the leftovers (in which I wasn't interested) were already warming. It will be awhile before I try...
Read moreMe and two others went to get pizza here after seeing a movie yesterday and had some issues with the food. The first physical mistake was one of the pizzas was made incorrectly and the remake was mostly correct. All of the original order was packaged to go even though we said we’d be eating there, the cashier looked like he couldn’t care less. Even the receipt had the food marked incorrectly on there despite the order itself being very clear. I was originally willing to ignore this, however the more I eat the left overs the more incorrect ingredients I’m finding. It was supposed to be a pepperoni pizza, but it was littered with sausage, green onions, regular onions, bell peppers, and jalapeño peppers all hidden under the cheese and the pizza was slightly burnt. While still edible, I’ve had to pick off all the burnt bits or it over powers the rest of the pizza taste. I haven’t had problems with this place in the past or I’d give it a lower rating. I don’t know if it’s new staff or what, but I’m not impressed from this most...
