Blue Gingko — Restaurant in Lafayette

Fiancé and I came here on a whim. It's a really cute little place and the employees were so friendly and sweet. Unfortunately it smelled extremely fishy upon entry-- and not in a good way. Fiancé got the seafood ramen and said it tasted very off, like bad sea water, and also a bit like ammonia, which is a sign of bad fish (tends to naturally take on this taste when it has expired). He ended up having food poisoning all night into the next day.

We really wanted to love this place, but perhaps there needs to be a new system for the incoming seafood ingredients. Probably need to make some freshness adjustments if customers are getting sick.

Though we love supporting local businesses, this was a red flag for contaminants, although the grilled rice balls were delicious. We will be steering clear for now. Maybe it was just a bad...

Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but as this is the second time I've had this experience, I am leaving this review. My family and I made a take-out order and were instructed to wait for twenty minutes. We returned after that time, payed, and continued to wait... For half an hour. At this point there was still no sign of the food (or a that there had been any progress to fulfilling our order), so we asked for a refund and left. I can't enjoy a restaurant that treats its employees like animals, I don't tolerate the lack of empathy, the employees of each business is the main source for each business to move forward, it is not the first time I see an act of discrimination or disrespect on the part of the new owner for his workers. Since he changed the owner of this restaurant, it has been a total failure, I always go with the hopes that this time it will be better. But I choose not...
