I've been a fan and patron of CC's for many years. Today I brought a new Lafayette resident to have breakfast there. I assured him that this was the best coffee house in Lafayette. As usual, I asked for plates for our food. (Who wants to eat on a paper bag?) The older gentleman barista copped an attitude, "Plates? We don't have plates?" (Seriously, raised his voice and was condescending.) I replied, "You had plates last week." A younger barista offered to get our plates. He went to the back to get them. The older guy intercepted and went to have a chat with him. The younger barista came back and said that he was sorry... that he was new and, "We cannot let you use a plate." This used to be a classy place. The wait staff used to be so well-trained. They also, of course, would provide an actual plate for food! If I'll pay $16 for two coffees a bagel and and muffin, I'm paying for more than the food. I'm paying for great service and a nice coffee house experience, which does not include a RUDE BARISTA and eating breakfast off of a paper bag. We ran into a friend there who confirmed that Rev and other coffee houses still have good service and do not serve food on paper bags! I'll be back at CC's if they make some changes. This is not the first time the the graying barista has demonstrated this kind of behavior. After 10+ years, we'll bring our businesses somewhere else unless CC's cleans up its act. (Two stars because the young, new barista was very kind, professional, and apologetic, and the...
Read moreMy family and I have been frequenting this location for a number of years now, and the coffee has always tasted wonderful and fresh, but what's kept us coming back has got to be their unmatched service. Today, a very nice blond haired employee mentioned that we frequently get breakfast croissants, one with cheese, and one without, and inquired if this was due to a lactose related issue. She then brought to our attention the presence of milk and dairy products in the different drinks we've tried over the years, even offering the recommendation of an almond milk substitute, as well as other alternatives, for my little sister and dad. Her informative, communicative, and kind actions showed a strong value for costumer well-being, and personifies the very reason we've kept coming back these past five years. This location embodies the very essence of a local business. There isn't a better coffee...
Read moreI almost didn’t give this coffee shop a chance. The reviews and photos online just didn’t do it justice—it didn’t even look like it had a drive-through, which made it feel inconvenient. Funny enough, I was actually on my way to CVS to grab milk and make coffee at home when I spotted this place right next door. I took it as a sign to try something new—and I’m so glad I did!
In person, the shop looks 10 times better. It’s super cute and aesthetic—way more charming than expected. The food was delicious, and the coffee? Even better. I was a little unsure how to order since it was my first time, but the cashier immediately understood what I was trying to ask for. When I got my drink, I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t usually like iced lattes because they never taste quite right compared to espresso with milk—but this one changed my mind....
