My boyfriend and I were there Saturday 8/6/2022, the service was great, the food was good. However when it came time to pay for our food we were given a ticket from another table, we were charged $130, then we brought it to her attention and she talked to her manager, she brought us a new ticket for $7.98 and not sure where that came from she said it was the "difference" and that the remaining amount would drop off and that didn't make sense so we asked where that came from because we had a few beers and ordered 2 orders of fajita steak and a side of rice. There is no way we should have payed $130 and we pointed out we were charged for 3 extra meals. She brought the $7.98 ticket back to ask her manager and I told my boyfriend to check his bank account. He was charged $130, $53, $7.98, and then for our actual ticket amount of $60.60. We were charged an extra $189, We were told this would fall off at midnight on Sunday. It is not Friday 8/12/2022 and we are still waiting for a refund. We contact the GM Rene and he did not feel the need to make this a priority and was not making it as an urgent matter, instead he made us wait until Wednesday to even consider refunding us. At this point the charges STILL did not drop off and we demanded a FULL refund of $250.00. Instead of refunding us THEY CHARGED US ANOTHER $250.00!!!!! That is $500 Chuys of Lafayette owes us and they ARE NOT taking this matter seriously. We used to go to this place every weekend, but after waiting almost an entire week to refund us our money for the extra charges and then charging us again we will NOT be returning. They have pushed us to the side, they have not been professional and urgent in this matter. I hope that this review changes someone's mind when they consider Chuys, they will mess up your order and not take responsibility until DAYS later and then when they mess up again they say they will have to call you back after charging your...
Read moreMy family and I decided to try this place for my daughter and I birthday 🎂. As we always past and see it packed so I wanted to try something new. So the menu is not overly complicated or large, which is great. The food is ok , it more of a place when you have a big family or large appetite and on a budget type of place. It's not that the food was bad it just mediocre which to find around here ,is not bad at all. I did have to try the tortilla soup as it one of my favorite, that definitely missed the mark. I got more of a chicken soup that taste like hospital food 🥴. It not a place to run home and tell Mama about 😒.We also had chip and queso or should I say queso inspired,as it definitely not traditional queso😒 more of a budget version or American version of queso. The waitress was pretty nice ,she looked extremely busy but she did a great job of keeping our table clear and request for side items was pretty quick for how busy the place was for her.( side note if you have it in your budget give the waitress a nice tip). So I would go back as I have large family and we still had food to take home with us. The Margarita 🍸 was great . So there a few issues ,as cleanliness is not a priority here seem like it 🤔.Like I felt if I look in the kitchen it would miss a few codes 😒. It do need some cleaning 🧹, but again to find a spot around here that you feel you didn't waste your money is a win. So if you don't mind pretty good mediocre food ,and crying kids, and some dirty table and booths and your on a budget Chuy is...
Read moreMy second visit was today. Let me start by saying that as a native Texan, this is hands down the best Tex Mex in Lafayette. That, and that alone is the reason I generously gave 2 stars. Unfortunately that comes with a price. This is probably the worst run restaurant in the area. The hostess station is a disaster, as no one appears to know what's going on. Today my wife and I had to be seated by a manager. The kitchen has, thus far, been a joke. My first visit found me waiting for 2 hours and 3 attempts for them to get my burrito right. By the time that happened, the rest of my group had finished eating and our waitress had to ask if I just wanted to get it to go. The manager gave us the meal for free, but the whole experience was a disaster. The wait staff appears untrained, and they constantly blame the kitchen for things going wrong. The whole place just feels like chaos. I never review restaurants, but I hope the good folks in Austin find out what's going on over here! The name you've built for 30 years is about to be ruined in Lafayette, La. To the good people of Lafayette, if you must eat here, call in a to go order, check your to go box to make sure your order is right, head home, and avoid the disaster that is this restaurant.
P.S. Don't make any special requests or changes to the menu item, you can forget it, the kitchen will just send it out as it's...
