Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Lafayette

Where do I begin? Upon entering this golden corral there was two employees smoking at the door actually talking on the phone. Actually the entire staff spent more time on the phone then anything else along with using profanity, talking about the pills they were gonna pop later, hoodies on their heads while serving customers. Buffet was actually very bare no food to really eat. Extremely dirty food and paper on the floor. No plates, the staff had their kid going to every table soliciting candy bars for 3 dollars a bar. Very Unprofessional, unorganized, and the item I thought would be good was the cook to order steak. Well I asked the guy standing by the grill if they had steak, he asked how I wanted it. I told him medium well, he slapped a piece of steak on my plate. I truly believed he was bothered that I asked him for something. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO A GOLDEN CORRAL AGAIN. please go somewhere else and get something to eat. I wish I would have read the reviews first because my experience was awful. Last but not least there was employees play fighting hanging out in the parking lot at night in the back of my truck like they were at a night club. I hate to complain but I really can't say one good thing about this place. TAKE MY ADVISE AND GO ELSEWHERE! This place has went down so much in the last few years. Today we witnessed so many things wrong with this place... food either not labeled or mislabeled and just looked gross and of very poor quality. Steak stretchy like rubber or full of fat. Fried chicken was about the only decent thing there. Dessert toppings with no utensils so children were using hands to get nuts/sprinkles for their one and only icecream flavor because the other flavors were "broken." No bowls for icecream so customers using plates. No cups for icee machine unless you ask a waitress. Staff playing around bunny hopping side by side in the dining areas. Yelling out at times trying to scare one another. One Staff member on the phone arguing or complaining about his paycheck at the register while customers line up waiting for service while he is on the phone. Lady finally came from the back to help us. Staff carrying tubs of what were clean utensils on her chest right under her chin breathing all over them. Carrying stacks of clean glasses using her fingers inside the glasses on the bottom to carry them. Toilets were all sprayed with urine/feces. The new remodel looks nice, but the food is still mediocre. As a vegatarian there was not many option that included any kind of seasoning. Their broccoli and cheese was over steamed broccoli and a cheese sauce that needed to be stirred. Limited quantity of toppings for salads. Saddest looking green beans ive ever seen. No fish on the buffet other than fried, and it was the only decently seasoned item that i had.( as a michigander with a liking for blandness thats saying something) The veggie pizza had WAY too much pesto on it. The only reason i was even interested in dinning in when i knew the quailty of the food was for the dessert bar, but it broke my heart to take a bite into that blueberry pie and taste that the filling is from a can. The chefs deserve so much better of a menu to cook with and better quality materials to do it with, least they lower their own cooking capabilities. The waitress i had was quiet and barely saw her, she picked up my plates every time i left, so i made sure to give her a decent tip, but dont expect a chatty server.
