I still love the amazing breads from MAMà Inez bakery, but I won't be ordering any more cakes from here. I have been ordering cakes from here since they opened and I have always been super happy. But the service and quality of my last order was horrible. I went in and asked how much it would be to get the 6 cakes I needed for my twins' quinceñera, a gentleman gave me a good quote and explained everything very well. I was still deciding on the decoration, but had shown him what I was interested in. I came back 2 days later when I decided to just go with the designs I had shown him. This time a woman took my order. She refused to believe that the other worker had given me the estimate on the cakes and wanted to charge me double. She fought me on the design as well, acting like it was a super difficult thing that was going to jack up the prices, when we were going for very simple and elegant. The design was nothing elaborate. She eventually negotiated the price but still over charged me and changed my designs. When we got the cakes they looked ok but were super dry and had no flavor (worst tres leches cake I've ever had). We ended up throwing most of them away, which has never happened to me at a party before, especially with over 300 people In attendance. So the breads are good but don't get the cakes! Prices are skyrocketing! It makes me mad that they don't put pricing information on the products, so you basically need a drumroll at the register! I got one little bag of bread for $25, before I could have gotten 3-4 bags for that price. I'm not going back. So...
Read moreYou would think after three years they would honestly change their ways. Decided to give them another try. Well cake was beautiful. However, when I ordered the owner said it had to be a âmedia lechesâ I did not care as I knew that meant the cake would not be soaked. Humid but not soaked. When it was time for cake for my sonâs birthday that thing was dry SOLID. They argued their cakes are supposed dense. Which makes sense since they add the âtres lechesâ you could literally see whey they only squirted some tres leches at the top. The loud lady there kept saying the cake was easy to cut. Lmao to be honest why wouldnât it be??? It was out of the fridge for 1.5 hours it thawed by then! However my five year old could not cut it after taking out of the fridge. Almost $70 later I have yet to receive the promised call. My husband made the comment it wasnât even a quarter tres leches cake. We brought the cake to them that same night. Rafa tried to be understanding. We appreciated his help. Loud lady kept trying to say I was wrong. So disappointed I didnât even bother calling back. Three years after they squirted chocolate syrup on my sonâs cake as well. They...
Read moreASK FOR PRICES! My family has been going here for years and the bread here is amazing! However, recently we have noticed discrepancies in pricing. The last time I was there I noticed that the price screen already had a dollar amount on it ($8.76) and the cashier just added on the price of my bread on to that amount. I asked the cashier to erase it all and add only the bread that I was paying for, and she did and apologized for the mistake. Then proceeded to charge me $4.50 for a soda which I thought was ridiculous but again they donât have their prices visible which I think is inconvenient and my question is how to we know what we are really getting charged for. Does the cashier decide on the pricing depending on the day?
I also went back a couple of days after the incident happened and they had covered the price screen.. suspicious to me. They have now since uncovered it but why even cover it. Again the bread and food here is amazing and we love going here, just think that pricing should be...
