Rickey Meche's Donut King — Restaurant in Lafayette

2 stars, because donuts are good even when they are a bit old tasting like these, but service is absolutely not good. I came in about 7:30am, ordered a buuunch of doughnuts. Have family in town and wanted to bring them breakfast. Ordered two glazed, 3 cake, 2 chocolate eclairs, 2 Bavarian chocolate, a cream cheese, a lemon, a chocolate filled, 2 glazed eclairs, a fritter, and a strawberry dipped. 2 ham and cheese, and a boudan pepper jack and some boudan balls. No pepper jack... Fine, give us a pulled pork. No problem. Why's this important? Well... I'll tell you. She packs our order while we wait. Given biiiig box, order two more beignet. She grabs them for us as I watch this time. Get our order, leave. Now I'm home. I have three cake, a fritter, a strawberry and two glazed Bavarian. That's it, besides the kolaches and the beignet. Where the heck is the rest of my order?!?!?!?! Now, I am only leaving this review because frankly this is the third time in a row this has happened and we hadnt been in a year because of this exact same service the other times. Plus not getting the order to feed everyone sucks. I'm not driving all the way back at over 4$ a gallon for gas. Like why didn't I check my order before leaving... Because I'm exhausted, it's 7:30am and I'm tired and just want to get food back before traffic starts. I think the attitudes at the counter could be improved. I'm very much more annoyed about my order because the girls at the counter just seem listless and annoyed they have to be there at 7am. Well, I'm annoyed I now need to cook actual breakfast for a bunch of annoying people who won't leave my house because they think I love them. Thanks Meches. P. S. The kolaches aren't even cooked, they're doughy and soggy.... Like eating raw dough out of a can. So. Thanks for this....

This is the first time I’ve had an experience like this.

I ordered a box of donut holes, and whenever I receive them, they were cold. I let my server, Indya, know if they didn’t have hot donuts I would go to Meche’s in Youngsville. No big deal just give me a refund.

She goes speak to someone in the back and this lady comes up to tell me that it would take about three minutes and the donuts would be fresh out the grease. I said sounds great and thanked her.

The woman who said it would take 3 minutes, comes to the front to grab a large box, walks towards the drive-thru(not the kitchen). A few minutes later she walks up to me with a smile and I am handed another box of donut holes.

They were not hot, warm at best. The cracked icing reminded me of donuts that had been handled a dozen times throughout the day.

Could very well be they were sitting in an oven for the 22 minutes I...

So I went 3 days ago and like the female put chocolate and glaze together,lol like What?? So i had to go back in and order some more..bc 2 of my picky kids that don't eat chocolate.It was touching the glazed;but like she was wrong for that..separated it sha..lol but they are big and they rather Jake's on Verot School Road..worth the drive! And a man was yelling at a mother and father bc their kid was out there under a tree with them holding a sign..he was scaring my daughter talking about take y'all self home. Get the kid away from here..must have knew them.but you gotta love it here..we look out for people..I brought a Donuts and drinks for each one of them...so why not a doughnut and a drink..i would took care of our local officers to. But they were a distance away.God is always on...
