So I'd heard that this was a good restaurant. My GF and I decided this morning to give it a try and then hit the Farmer's Market. Walked in and of course no tables. Very small place, half blocked off. OK, we'll wait. Then a party gets up and goes to pay their bill. OK, our table after they clean it off. So we watch the "cashier" and the guest discuss the workings of their card scanner and whatever for at least 5 minutes. The guest didn't know how to use the machine, the cashier didn't know how to help, and we watched them struggle. So, was anyone bussing the dirty table? Nope. No effort at all. So, just as they finished at the register another party came up to pay. Did she stop to get us seated? Nope. Started cashing out the party that just walked up. OMG the same thing. Took at least another 5 min. We're ready to walk out but decided to stay. The cashier came over after that mess and said she'd have it ready for us right away. Well.....like 5 more minutes. We're standing there trying to decide whether to stay. We finally get seated, just as a table of 5 walks in. So the waitress (who we hadn't seen) comes and takes our drink order. Then goes to help the large table. Let's make a long story a little shorter here. They took care of the large table at the same time as us, so our food took forever (like 25 min). We only had eggs, bacon, HB and toast. My GF ordered onion in her hash browns. They brought us a slice of raw onion ON her hash browns. Really? Like who would want it like that? So dumb. So, the eggs were runny, the hash browns were dry with little flavor, the coffee, bacon and toast were good. We won't be back. Don't know if it was a bad day, but there was nothing compelling enough to get me to go back. There are LOTS of great breakfast restaurants in this town. We'll...

Make sure you have cash, but if you don't they have an ATM available. I did not know we needed cash but my wife was ready.
Before you walk in there's a sign to be nice because they are short staffed. If you can't be nice or you're in a hurry don't go. No need to be in a rush because it's peaceful and they do their best to help customers.
The staff is great. They clean as soon as they can and the food is made to order. It's all fresh.
We missed the early bird special they offer from 6am to 9am. The prices are reasonable. You won't be upset if you order off the regular menu.
Rhea was on duty. She is business and firm so don't go in and get your feelings hurt if she's all business.
We placed our order. It took a few minutes to get cooked but it's all fresh and hot. The pancakes are very filling and I'm a big man. The eggs were scrambled to order. My wife got a French toast and eggs with hash browns. Pictures posted.
A couple of college girls came in and were told to use cash and the ATM was available. Sadly the girls went in shock and left. I figure they are not used to carrying cash or know how to use the ATM 🏧 the way they acted.
As for us, we enjoyed the meal. The service and the experience of eating at a small diner and local business. If you get a chance give them a try.
If you remember Alice, Mel and Flo you're going to be fine 😁

Read moreI would love to give this place a higher rating but it was just not good. To start off with the booths were quit rough fixed up with duck tape. Personally to reupholsters a both isn't hard if you do it yourself. Second there prices are far to high. I could go to competing restaurants like the sparrow or even red seven and pay just as much. I paid 20 bucks I did tip decently but I normally do. I only got a simple BLT fries and beans. The beans looked quite questionable and tasted just as questionable. I did not finish them. The BLT was like one made at home but tasted worse. The only good thing I had were the fries and my drink. The Restaurant did have a certain charm to it and nostalgia and history but unless it is a museum I don't normally go to a restaurant for these reasons. There means to pay were out dated too. While most restaurants use tap to pay or at least have a regular credit card reader this establishment did not. Instead they had some how rigged an ATM system to there POS machine. Because of this they charged in 20 dollar increments and gave you the change back from the POS machine. I have never seen anything like that but that's an inefficient out of date way to conduct sales. I suspect since their customer base is older and normally caries enough cash, they don't see the need to invest in a more updated system. Also, I love that this place was family run and the original owner was still cooking. I just wish the food and over all...
