Just off the square, the entrance to Brickhouse Grille is adorable and inviting. Inside, it's about what you'd expect a pub come sports bar to be--dark mostly. There is nothing really striking or interesting in the atmosphere.
We were seated by a hostess (or perhaps bartender doing double duty?) who was not following Georgia's mandatory mask requirement for customer-facing restaurant employees (this is not a judgement; it's is just information). Our server showed up promptly, took our drink order, and quickly returned with the drinks--leaving us to peruse the menu.
The menu too was about what one would expect--burgers, tacos, wings, etc. We took our time and finally decided on an appetizer (because who wouldn't want cheesesteak fries!) and salads. Then we waited four our server to return to take our order...and waited...and waited.
OK, clearly there were things going on that we didn't know about because the staff just mostly seemed to be missing. Finally our server showed and we ordered.
Then we got to wait for our food...and wait...and wait. sigh
Cheesesteak fries finally arrived, and man they looked tasty. The battered fries were still crispy under all that goo. I almost wished I had ordered a burger so I could have more of those fries! Unfortunately, that was the best part of that dish. The steak was OK. I mean it was tender, but lackluster and bland. The cheese was also mostly tasteless. Again, it was OK, but it missed the mark and fell far short of its potential.
Then we waited for our salads...and waited...and waited...
What can I say about salads? They were salads. The only notable thing about them was their price. I can think of a dozen restaurants in the area that will give you at least twice as much food for the same (or often less) money. No, it isn't all about the money for me, but if you're going to charge me $13 for a salad, it needs to more than some iceburg lettuce and chicken tenders.
Then we waited for the bill...and waited...and waited...
I keep mentioning that we waited. Seriously we were in this place for over an hour and a half for some fries and salad. Perhaps one could overlook this if the place were packed and the staff were running their legs off, but they just weren't busy. In fact, we were two of fewer than a dozen total patrons in the place, and mostly the staff were just not around, so there wasn't even an option to catch someone's eye.
Waiting for boring overpriced food just isn't a high point in my day, so I doubt we'll...
Read moreThis was our first and only visit. First the serves was horrible. The server didn't know the basic menu items and kept going to ask. We had to ask for straws, plates for our appetizers, the serve was slow and the waitress didn't check on us. We had to grab people as they walked by. Menu options were limited because they were out of items like steak and asparagus. Spinach dip was subpar if you have ever had spinach and artichoke dip before. We left most of it on the table. Smoked tuna was a good appetizer. We ordered 3 chopped steak dinners and boom boom shrimp due to the limited availability of some menu items. Shrimp was served cold and hard and it was promptly returned. None of the chopped steaks were served with gravy so the plates came out unprepared. One chopped steak plates was medium well but over cooked on the exterior it however was eaten. The next was ordered well done but arrived medium again visibility over cooked on the exterior. Most of it was eaten by two patrons that ate the well done and medium parts. The fourth meal ordered medium well again it was returned because it had raw hamburger meat on the middle with a hard over cooked exterior. Ingesting raw ground meat is serious health violation. The manager did remove the two dinners but made no effort to recapture the lost busy or check on the table after the issues. The returned meals were deleted from the check and no one wanted to reorder. I wrote a list of some of the items that were a miss but manager brushed them off on new employees in the kitchen and wait staff but a food bourne illness is a lack of management oversight not new employees. Risk your family if you like but I advice you...

We were a party of 3 (4 if you count our pup) we asked to sit outside and were told to go ahead and there would be a 20 mins wait. But we could order drinks and an appetizer from the bar as we waited outside. While my fiancé was waiting for his drink at the bar a waitress came to the table and let’s just say she didn’t seem happy. We explained that we were getting drinks and an appetizer from the bar since they told us it would be 20 mins. This only annoyed her more. For drinks he got a Malibu bucket that could have used a floater but after that the beer helped his buzz. My friend ordered also got a beer that she enjoyed. We ordered the tater tot nachos with pulled pork, a half house salad (because they were out of bone in chicken wings. We had our heart set on lemon pepper wings), the black and blue burger med rare and a cup of loaded baked potato soup. The nachos came out with out the pulled pork. We got the pulled pork as we took the last bite of nachos. The salad and burger took like 30 mins, the burger was well done and the soup had too much black pepper for the average persons taste bud. We of course still tipped 20+% because hey even though she may have not been the best waitress for our table. She still has bills, this is her job and everyone has a bad day here and there.
Speaking to one of our friends that also ended up there while looking for food before their road trip back to Florida ordered fish dip she commented it tasted like it was bathed in mayonnaise and a fried green...
