Not going to lie, this experience with Karvelas today, February 23rd was absolutely abysmal. We ordered a 16 inch cheese pizza with pepperoni and when my husband got home, the pizza was burned to a crisp on the bottom and along the crust. Something that they should have caught before they boxed it up and sent it out. My husband gets home and I’m like “this is burned”. He called back to let them know about the pizza and to get a replacement pizza. He goes back and gets the replacement pizza, and whomever he gets it from says to him that she checked the new pizza and everything looks fine. He gets home and I check it. Well guess what? It was burned WORSE than the first pizza!!! I check the entire pizza bottom, and it’s charred black as black can be. I then called and spoke with the manager, and she was not very nice. She said that she checked the pizza and it was fine. That it was not burned. She then stated that the pizza oven was on the correct temperature. I told her that at this point, I’m not coming back a third time to get another pizza. Especially since the second pizza was worse than the first. The manager was not apologetic.
We won’t be ordering anything ever again from Karvelas. It’s sad because we ordered from y’all practically every week.
I’ve included pictures of the second pizza...
Read moreMy wife's family was in from out of town, so we came to Karvelas to have dinner. The appetizer and the pizza was pretty dang good. Now, the main reason I suggested this restaurant was, I've heard the wings were the best in town, so I had to try them. When we got there, we were starving, and luckily it wasn't packed out, yet. We placed our order with our great server, and away we go. The wings finally came out, and let me tell you, they didn't disappoint. The wings were tender, fresh out of the fryer, and very flavorful. The Copperhead Road sauce (my personal favorite) was a mustard based masterpiece of vinegar, with a tad bit of sweetness, just enough heat, and a good Carolina mustard. Not one time did I retreat to the ranch. We ordered 30, so my wife picked the Tennessee Whiskey, and her sister chose Middle of the road Mild. Both of those sauces were awesome, as well. The best wings I've had in a long time, but the fact that they came while we were paying our ticket left me a little let down. I would recommend anyone to come to this restaurant, but our first trip there wasn't the best. I reckon tomorrow, I'll find out how...
Read moreI was a solo diner at this place. I went in expecting to get a Pizza, however they only have 16" Pizzas and dont do anything smaller than that for 1 person. The pickings in the menu for a solo diner are extremely slim and mostly on the 'junk food' category. I considered walking out but against my better judgement decided to stick it out. I ordered the Redhead Greek salad with grilled chicken on it. Not sure what is 'redhead' about it. The closest thing to something red it had was some Olives. The grilled chicken was OK, the rest of the salad was mediocre at best with boring, cheap Romaine or Iceberg lettuce and onions. 100% of what they serve you on the table ends up in the Trash and contaminates the earth. Even the table they cover with sheets of white paper, so they dont have to actually break a sweat wiping anything down. Paper cups, plastic forks and knives, the salad came in a plastic box (quite unappetizing as you can see from the picture I have attached). HUGE environmental footprint. They dont want to lift a pinky to wash or clean anything here it seems like. Needless to say, I wont be returning...
