We came here on vacation as we were born and raised in Laguna Niguel and grew up going to Ted's place in high school. We would skip school to go to this place and it was always fantastic food was great! We've been gone for 10 years and this place has kind of gone downhill. The portions were gigantic, could have cut back a little to lower the price however I suppose for the amount of food we got it was fine. The food was still pretty good although I remember the hash browns being cooked a little bit better. We all pretty much enjoyed our food and have no complaints about the food. However the customer service is extremely lacking. When I went up to order my food I had a question about it and didn't want something in it.... I feel like I went on for about 3 minutes back and forth with the lady taking my order as she was telling me I couldn't take away an ingredient (meat) from my eggs....... At the end the lady said okay I'm just going to give you eggs, cheese and avocado " lol which literally was what I wanted from the beginning so I'm not quite sure what happened. Each time she kind of had a snarl on her face and an eye roll. Which kind of made me feel awkward. The temperature inside the place was so freaking hot that it was hotter than outside! I have zero idea why the air conditioning was not on but we were all sweating. My 4-year-old had bright red cheeks which I knew she was very hot. While I admit to coming on a Sunday during a busy time, I certainly didn't expect to wait nearly 45 minutes for a to go order (the drive through would have been much quicker). I ordered bacon and eggs over medium and french toast. After waiting 35 minutes I asked at the counter for my order. The young woman was very pleasant and proceeded to bring over a to go container that had been sitting on the back counter for who knows how long. She then said "we're just waiting on the French Toast (which hadn't been started yet by the way). I inquired how long mine had been sitting there and she gave it to me and said to go ahead and check to see if it was warm which it wasn't. I was more disappointed that my eggs were not over medium- but over hard. I pointed this out and she said they would make new ones. After waiting another 7 minutes for the french toast and new eggs, I was finally given my order and I left. Sadly, when I got home the "new" over medium eggs were also nearly cooked through. So I now had over cooked eggs, not to mention too crispy bacon. I was bummed. On the plus side, my daughter did like her French Toast. While they didn't make a good first impression, I'm sure I'll come back another time to try again. I do understand how difficult it must be to cook such a large menu all day and things happen, but unfortunately I can't give Ted's more than 2...
Read moreWe went here for a Mother’s Day lunch before heading to the beach. After waiting some time for food, I noticed the receipt and we were charged for an extra combo. I went to the cashier to fix it and she was supposed to take off the additional $6 plus tax and credit card fee. When I looked at the receipt it was for $5.50 not even the amount of the meal. When I brought it to the attention of the server he tried to get it fixed but it didn’t happen. When we got our food, there was a hair grilled into one of the burgers so we had to return it and wait for this meal. It just got later and everyone was already done except for this meal. I tried calling the restaurant later to fix the charge issue and when I pulled up the credit card to reference the charge I noticed the cashier did not reverse the charge but actually charged me. So now I paid twice for something I did not receive. I contacted the restaurant at least 4 times to get this resolved and was told the manager would call but never did and every time I called he was not there. I don’t give bad reviews because I know people have off days. But to ignore an issue like this is disappointing to say the least. The right thing to do would be to reverse the whole thing at this point. We paid over $84 for 2 combos and 2 single burgers...
