BeauxDines' — Restaurant in Lake Charles

The good thing, there was no wait to be seated. Now we know why. That was it! The bad, my son wanted macaroni, they were out, no big thing. I order boudin. They didn't have any. Now getting frustrated! I order the shrimp boil, spicy with two extra pieces of corn. Food arrives. It is not a shrimp boil. It is boiled shrimp with some unflavored, hot seasoning sprinkled on the boiled shimp. One piece of boiled corn with no seasoning whatsoever, the poor waitress was so embarrassed and begged for forgiveness because that was the last piece of corn, so no extras for anyone else. I can't believe they advertise as a cajun restaurant. They don't know what a shrimp boil is, so glad it wasn't crawfish season. I can only cringe imagining how bad they could ruin that! My kids didn't complain about their burgers and my wife ate her catfish quietly. I still tipped the waitress well. Should have recommended that she find a real cajun restaurant to work at, she would probably make alot more in tips if the food was better and if the restaurant had the food that's on the menu. We went there multiple times last year and the boiled seafood was amazing. Something has changed. We went there on a Friday night and was immediately seated outside with live music. My husband and I ordered boiled shrimp with corn and potatoes while my teenagers ordered pulled pork sandwich and grilled chicken breast with fries. The food was brought out one plate at a time over the course of 40 minutes. The chicken came out first which was tough and her fries were cold. The pulled pork sandwich came out about 10 minutes later. It was literally store bought precooked pork. It was okay but, again, his fries were cold. Fast forward another 20 minutes and the shrimp came out. The cook time was spot-on as they were very easy to peel. However, they were VERY bland to the point of having almost no seasoning at all. It was honestly a really bad experience. For the price, we could have went down the road to a competitor for much better food and service. As a side note, the waitress was very sweet and was continually apologizing for the poor service. We left a good tip because she was doing everything she could to take care of us but the kitchen...

This was an interesting place.. We were in Lake Charles, I wanted local flair, and folks we were dining with hadn't been here either.. so, we decided to give them a try. They had both indoor and outdoor seating.. Think picnic tables outside.. and table / chairs inside. We chose inside as we'd been outside all day and needed a break from the humidity / heat. We were there on a Tuesday, which was their final day for All You Can Eat Crawfish for #25.99? if I remember the cost right.. They bring out a tray with about 3lbs of dads... and as you are cleaning up the last few,, they ask if you want another plater.. Haha! our friend had 3 platters! wow! He said they were really good, and enjoyed every last bit. Debra's meal wasn't as good, the salad was stale, and her entree wasn't cooked right. I had a mixed plate, and then added some boiled shrimp.. The Boiled Shrimp were the best.. and my mixed plate had some dads.. so I got to enjoy those also. OH.. they have music on friday / saturday...
