This review is long overdue. Please meet Jonta. I was craving a fish sandwich (March 8, ‘23) & Mr. Bill’s was within their first few weeks of reopening, after storm repairs. I called in a fish poboy for myself & a shrimp dinner for my husband. Jonta took the call & was so very polite. Upon arrival, Jonta also handed over my order through the window. I told him I’d like to leave a review for the restaurant & asked permission to take his picture, he agreed. I told him the restaurant was lucky to have him because he was so good at his job. Jonta informed me that he was actually not a full time employee of the restaurant, they were more like family. He said while he was studying at McNeese, he worked for the restaurant. The owner became like family & was a positive role model to him. Jonta is now an educator/coach at Hamilton Christian Academy & still helps out when the owner needs him. This speaks volumes as to why the food was top tier. The shrimp & fish were cooked to perfection. The poboy bun was soft, yet flaky. The poboy was so full, I was able to give my husband a filet & still had a very hefty sandwich. I’ve waited so long to post this review that I’ve made myself hungry for another!

I was craving a grilled shrimp Po’Boy and I’m glad I came here! They did not disappoint!. Delicious food. I ended up ordering the grilled fish & shrimp Po’Boy with onion rings. It was HUGE! Couldn’t finished it. Big enough to feed two people. The bun was soft and delicious. Shrimp & fish grilled to perfection, seasoned just right. Even though they were super busy on a Friday night, my food didn’t take too long and the little wait was totally worth it. My waitress was great, friendly and courteous. I believe her name is Caroline. The place is not really big and I can tell it has a good reputation because it was packed even close to closing time on Friday night. Be aware they charge 4% extra for credit or debit card payments and parking is limited. But totally worth it. By the way, boiled crawfish was $8.99 per pound today (February 23, 2024), still cheaper than $11.99 at Steamboat Bill’s.

We decided to eat here on a whim. I'm so glad we chose this place. Staff was friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered the Seafood Platter and the Jalapeño Burger. We were expecting the food to taste like it was fried from a frozen state, but we could tell it was fresh. Well, perhaps the fries were frozen, but that is expected. They gave us these cool McNeese State University cups for our drinks. It is really nice that they cater to students. They offer a free drink to MSU students with the purchase of an entrée (must have your student ID, of course). We look forward to coming back when we are in town again.

We showed up for the live music and boiled crawfish. Server served us quickly and was very polite, I wish I had caught her name. We were there for over an hour listening to very nice live music, amazing playlist and the place was alive with people without being rowdy. Everybody seemed like they were in a good mood.

The crawfish was insanely good! The first batch was 5 pounds it came out almost immediately. It was spicy and juicy. But after that we ordered an extra 3 pounds i don’t know if was because it was fresher but this one came steaming hot and HEAVILY seasoned. I have a high spice tolerance but some of those crawfish had me pausing to catch my breath.

Overall I will definitely be going back as I want to try other things on the menu. if you like juicy, seasoned crawfish and a great atmosphere this is a nice...
