Im sad I forgot to take a picture because this was a beautiful meal. Ive been wanting to come here for a while and finally had the chance to today. The menu was very clear and easy to read. I got a brisket plate. the 1/4 lb was two slices so I went ahead and got 1/2 lb so id have left overs. I got two sides, green beans and smokey baked beans, and a drink. The sides were very good portions! My brisket plate (1/2 lb) with two sides, a drink, and a 10% tip was $27. The meat is sliced right in front of you and the sides are already prepared so its all dished out right in front of you with no wait time. The atmosphere was very nice. I was by myself so I sat towards the front near a window. The restaurant was very clean. The brisket and the BBQ sauce was amazing! The green beans had a very good flavor, they weren't my favorite but that doesn't mean they couldn't be someone else's favorite! I loved the smokey baked beans! I would have loved to see a cabbage, greens, or potato casserole on the menu as a side. I look forward to returning for more brisket in the future and to try different sides! There was a corn side that looked very good so I definitely want to try that! When I got done with my meal I did get a to go box to bring home my leftovers. I wasn't sure whether to leave my tray on the table but when I went to refill my drink I happened to see where to stack the tray and silverware so I followed suit! I look forward to...
Read moreThis is the second time I had to return to pick up items that were missing from my order. As we were waiting for our order to be completed and bagged up, the hostess who introduced herself as, Paul's oldest, was talking to us about the last time we were in there and the issues we had with our order and having to come back to get missing items. She was telling us about the turkey they do for Thanksgiving and offered us a sample, but never saw her again. So, we gather our bags and leave. When we get home and start unpacking the food we realize that there are items missing from the order. So have to return again and pick up the missing food. Which means I will have to eat cold food when I return with the missing items. When I returned to Paul's I really wanted to speak to someone that might look like they were in a supervisor role, but couldn't find anyone that looked old enough to be management. the food is good, but the lack of supervision is hurting the take out process. I understand that I am at fault for not checking my order before I left, I just thought they would have fixed the issue from the last time and the fact that Paul's oldest would have made sure that it was all good since we just had a conversation with about last time we were there. I do no think I will be spending anymore money in this establishment. No supervision or...
Read moreI’m so biased (owner’s daughter here) but after enjoying this food for around 10 years, I would say I’m the utmost expert on Paul’s Rib Shack Barbecue. I could eat it (and sometimes do eat it) every day. No kidding, I’m not tired of it yet. It is quality food, with great ingredients and a flavor unparalleled. I’ve been to some of the best bbq places around the country, and nothing beats home and Paul’s Rib Shack.
My favorite is the turkey. You can eat so much of it! The brisket and mac and cheese are excellent as well. Oh, and I shouldn’t really tell you about the bread pudding because I was the one who created it, so it feels too much like bragging… try it and tell me what you think. I’m pretty confident.
It’s where I bring all my friends for a good time! It’s the place I celebrated graduation, and where I’ll soon celebrate a book launch
So yes, I’m biased, but doesn’t that put me in the best position to tell you about this place?
