I will never order a cake from this bakery again!
I ordered 2 custom round cakes online two days in advance from when I needed them. I had them set to be ready at 11am. Time passes and it's 1pm the pick up day. I get no notification that the cakes are ready so I call the bakery.
A very rude black woman answers the phone and asks me how I'm going to get notification of it being ready and I said I didn't know but I received an email for my order confirmations for the cakes. She checks for the cakes and 1 is ready and the other was never made! (One was a birthday cake and one was an anniversary cake.)
She tells me it will be ready in about 20-30 minutes. Okay fine.
I let an hour go by to be on the safe side because I live outside of Lake Charles and I didn't want to drive all the way up thereand still have to wait. I go to the store to pick the cakes up and the anniversary cake says birthday! They also put these round, double layer cakes in a regular rectangle box so on top of this, the roses on the cakes are all smashed into the top of the box!
They had to scrape birthday off of the cake to write anniversary, smashed roses on both cakes. They ended up charging me half price for the anniversary cake but the other cake was still full price even though it was still smashed up. Each cake was supposed to have whipped icing and they had buttercream icing!
I am warning you, DO NOT ORDER A CAKE FROM HERE. I will stick to Walmart for a custom cake....
Read moreIf I could do zero stars I would!! 5pm I went in to Krogers and put together probably about $400 dollars worth of groceries. I am a super nice, patient, happy person under normal circumstances, but I am an ER tech, NOT a grocery clerk, and i had unintentionally gotten into the self check line. That being said, I started scanning my stuff, and doing a pretty good job of it I THOUGHT, but apparently the cold medicine I bought needed an ID check. Not a problem, right? I'm over 21 and I have cold symptoms 😩 WRONG!!! The woman whose job it was to "assist" those of us who did not chose to enter the retail grocery industry came over and began to loudly berate me, all the while flinging my groceries back into the cart until she reached the offending Robitussin. I apologized, and began rescanning the groceries, but this was obviously not the protocol. After being scolded loudly, on a holiday weekend, after a very long day, I decided I was done. I told her I wouldn't be needing ANY of the groceries, and left it all in the cart and went to Albertson's., who will be getting all my business from now on despite the fact that they are somewhat more expensive. Good job Krogers...you saved the world from a decongestant felony, but you definitely lost a customer. I didn't get her name, but it was about 530pm on Thursday December 22nd at the Kroger on Country Club Lane...and lady, you know...
Read moreIf was great when they first opened.... But just as temporary as the signature brand sign so did this almost be more than a typical basic grocery store.
Selection was vast when this store first opened and now has shrunk down but prices are lower and still a wide variety of products are available. Online ordering is great (sometimes the employees mark an item not available).
Produce is not taken care of very well. Cheese area has shrunk down along with selection. Cheeses are not cut properly. Some areas are not cleaned up daily. Stock not being checked for expiration dates. This store sometimes does not honor advertise specials stating some reason like it's illegal to discount milk products (yet they clearance out milk)
(update after speaking to management milk coolers are checked more regularly and produce shelves are cleaned more frequently)
The problems from the other Krogers followed along to this one with poor assistant managers and employees who don't take pride in their store. Several Employees have been passive hostile or freely vocalising discontent. The eating area in front was a nice addition at the time but due to disuse, the employes use the are to smoke in front of the store, even though it is against policy to do so causing the entire front of the store to...
